Journal ArticleDOI

SARS-CoV-2 infection of the liver directly contributes to hepatic impairment in patients with COVID-19.

TL;DR: The liver enzyme abnormality was associated with disease severity, as well as a series of laboratory tests including higher A-aDO2, higher GGT, lower albumin, decreased CD4+ T cells and B lymphocytes, and histologically, massive hepatic apoptosis and a certain binuclear hepatocytes were observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical and pathological investigation of patients with severe COVID-19.

TL;DR: Circulating cytokines, including IL-8, IL-6, TNF-α, IP10, MCP1, and RANTES, were significantly elevated in patients with severe COVID-19 and could be used to predict disease deterioration and inform clinical interventions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serum Golgi protein 73 is not a suitable diagnostic marker for hepatocellular carcinoma.

TL;DR: The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis demonstrated that serum GP73 had poor performance for differentiating HCC patients from cirrhosis patients, and the immunohistochemistry revealed that aberrant expression of GP73 was primarily observed in cirrhotic and tumor liver tissues from both Cirrhosis and HCC Patients, but rarely in non-cirrhotic liver tissues.
