Design of electrical conductive composites : key role of the morphology on the electrical properties of carbon black filled polymer blends
Frederic Gubbels,Silvia Blacher,Eric Vanlathem,R. Jerome,Robert Deltour,François Brouers,Philippe Teyssie +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of carbon black (CB) on the morphology of filled polyethylene (PE)/polystyrene (PS) blends has been investigated by image analysis of optical micrographs (2D analysis) and by the selective extraction of one phase of the binary blends (3D analysis).
Journal ArticleDOI
Laser-induced choroidal neovascularization model to study age-related macular degeneration in mice.
Vincent Lambert,Julie Lecomte,Sylvain Hansen,Silvia Blacher,Maria-Luz Alvarez Gonzalez,Ingrid Struman,Nor Eddine Sounni,Eric Rozet,Pascal De Tullio,Jean-Michel Foidart,Jean-Marie Rakic,Agnès Noël +11 more
TL;DR: This standardized protocol can be applied to transgenic mice and can include treatments with drugs, recombinant proteins, antibodies, adenoviruses and pre-microRNAs to aid in the search for new molecular regulators and the identification of novel targets for innovative treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI
The pro- or antiangiogenic effect of plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 is dose dependent
Laetitia Devy,Silvia Blacher,Christine Grignet-Debrus,Khalid Bajou,Véronique Masson,Robert D. Gerard,Ann Gils,Geert Carmeliet,Peter Carmeliet,Paul Declerck,Agnès Noël,Jean-Michel Foidart +11 more
TL;DR: It is shown that PAI‐1 promotes an‐giogenesis at physiological concentrations through its antiproteolytic activity rather than by interacting with vitronectin, and that the pro‐ or antiangiogenic effect of plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 is dose dependent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetic and thermodynamic control of the selective localization of carbon black at the interface of immiscible polymer blends
TL;DR: In this article, carbon black (CB) particles are selectively localized at the interface of polyethylene/polystyrene (PE/PS) blends used as models of two-phase polyblends.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of fatty acid β-oxidation in lymphangiogenesis
Brian W. Wong,Xingwu Wang,Annalisa Zecchin,Bernard Thienpont,Ivo Cornelissen,Joanna Kalucka,Melissa García-Caballero,Rindert Missiaen,Hongling Huang,Ulrike Bruning,Silvia Blacher,Stefan Vinckier,Jermaine Goveia,Marlen Knobloch,Hui Zhao,Cathrin Dierkes,Chenyan Shi,René Hägerling,Veronica Moral-Darde,Sabine Wyns,Martin Lippens,Sebastian Jessberger,Sarah-Maria Fendt,Aernout Luttun,Agnès Noël,Friedemann Kiefer,Bart Ghesquière,Lieve Moons,Luc Schoonjans,Mieke Dewerchin,Guy Eelen,Diether Lambrechts,Peter Carmeliet +32 more
TL;DR: In transgenic mouse models, LEC-specific loss of CPT1A, a rate-controlling enzyme in fatty acid β-oxidation, impairs lymphatic development and replenishing acetyl coenzyme A by supplementing acetate rescues this process in vivo.
