A systematic literature mapping on secure identity management using blockchain technology

Ever since the first generation of blockchain technology became very successful and the FinTech enormously benefited from it with the advent of cryptocurrency, the second and third generations championed by Ethereum and Hyperledger have explored the extension of blockchain in other domains like IoT, supply chain management, healthcare, business, privacy, and data management. A field as huge as the insurance industry has been underrepresented in literature. Therefore, this paper presents how investments in blockchain technology can profit the insurance industry. We discuss the basics of blockchain technology, popular platforms in use today, and provide a simple theoretical explanation of the insurance sub-processes which blockchain can mutate positively. We also discuss hurdles to be crossed to fully implement blockchain solutions in the insurance domain.

Blockchain in Insurance: Exploratory Analysis of Prospects and Threats

Since Bitcoin's success, there has been a greater emphasis on researching the use of blockchain in a wide range of applications, such as agriculture, education, government, voting systems, etc. This generation of Blockchain applications is termed blockchain 3.0. Blockchain technology provides enhanced security, auditability, privacy, accountability, and many more features over a centralized system. Fraud in insurance is an international problem affecting all insurance subdomains in both developed and developing countries. Fraud, corruption, and many other data-related problems are threatening the financial security of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Ghana and if not attended to, the core aims of the scheme to provide universal healthcare services will not be realized. Consequently, the objective of this work is to design and implement a blockchain-based solution to protect the NHIS from plummeting financially. This paper presents the conceptual view of the proposed system, sequence and use case diagrams, data management framework, smart notification system, and smart claim processing system. The system was evaluated using the DeLone & McLean Information Systems Success Model. It was used to validate the behavioural aspect of the system. The study discovered a significant influence of information quality and user satisfaction. On the contrary, system quality seems to have an almost significant influence on the use and user satisfaction of the proposed system.

Disrupting Insurance Industry Using Blockchain

One of the technologies that has been showing possibilities of application in educational environments is the Mixed Reality (MR) comprising of both Augmented Reality(AR) and virtual Reality(VR), in addition to its application to other fields such as tourism, advertising, video games, among others. The primary reason for this research work is to depict and condense trials with production training and education applications utilizing mixed reality gadgets. The entry of new and further developed mobile devices opens up more opportunities for the applications to develop and be circulated. This paper tries to build upon the current state of mixed reality and its application in education. The first segment describes basic structure of mixed reality and its different parts. Following segments give a definitive structure of some experimental applications that were developed for the mixed reality, with the inference taken from the data of experiment done by the National university of Columbia on secondary school students and lastly, the paper shows the benefits of those applications over the traditional teaching methods and the basic user reactions to them.
