TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined consumer's acceptance intention of sensor-based smart clothing empolying the extended TAM and found that perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness directly influenced acceptance intention.
Abstract: This study examines consumer's acceptance intention of sensor-based smart clothing empolying the extended TAM. Technology innovativeness, information innovativeness and trust were used as external variables and perceived palyfulness was included in the extetended TAM. Data were collected from the adults over 20 years old living in Daegu from March 14 to 18, 2011. 193 useful copies of data were analyzed to investigate a structural model and test research hypotheses using AMOS 7.0. The study results showed that the extended TAM for smart clothing was validated empir- ically in predicting the individual's acceptance of sensor-based smart clothing and 10 hypotheses among 12 hypotheses were supported. Technology innovation, information innovation, and trust were confirmed as antecedent variables in affecting extended TAM. Perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness directly influenced acceptance intention and indi- rectly influenced acceptance intention mediating attitude. Perceived usefulness affected perceived playfulness and attitude affected acceptance intention. This study will help marketers and managers of fashion companies devise effective tools in planning marketing strategies related to smart clothing.

TL;DR: Tight-fitting upper clothing is developed to measure electrocardiography (ECG) data and subjective wear sensations of the clothing were eva-luated using a subjective 7-point scale (with 7 being most excellent).
Abstract: This study develops tight-fitting upper clothing to measure electrocardiography (ECG) data. Taking intoconsideration the elasticity of the clothing, we made 4 experimental clothes by applying to each a weft re-duction rate of 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70%. The 4 experimental clothes were used to measure resting ECG,exercise ECG, and post-exercise ECG for 4 men in their 20s. We compared clothing pressures using sensorson the human body and on a dressform. Subjective wear sensations of the 4 experimental clothes were eva-luated using a subjective 7-point scale (with 7 being most excellent). We measured clothing pressures byusing the air type pressure (AMI 3037-2) for upper and lower chest sensors in the developed tight-fittingupper clothing. The lower chest sensor showed that the clothing pressure on a human body and dressformchanged consistently as the weft reduction rate decreased. The upper chest sensor showed inconsistent cha-nges in clothing pressure as the weft reduction rate decreased. The wearing-test result for preliminary sub-jects showed that the lower chest sensor was more stable than the upper chest sensor; therefore, we insertedthe sensor at the lower chest position before performing ECG. Except for Subject 4, the resting ECGs werestably measured for 3 subjects (Subject 1, Subject 2, and Subject 3) in all the developed clothes (A cloth-ing, B clothing, C clothing, and D clothing). However, D clothing showed stable ECG values after exer-cise. The results of the experiment showed that we could measure ECG without difficulty using clothes witha weft reduction rate of 40% when the movement was not intense; however, tight-fitting upper clothingwith a weft reduction rate of 70% was necessary to measure exercise ECG and post-exercise ECG values.Key words: Tight-fitting upper clothing, ECG, Weft reduction rate, Clothing pressure, Subjective wear test;밀착 상의, 심전도, 가로 축소율, 의복압, 주관적 착의평가

TL;DR: The aim of this study was to suggest electrode locations for clothing of ECG monitoring to reduce of motion artifacts, and the optimal location was deducted under the bust line and scapula which have least motion artifact.
Abstract: Recently, according to change of lifestyle and increase of concerning in health, needs of the smart clothing based on the vital sign monitoring have increased. Along with this trend, smart clothing for ECG monitoring has been studied various way as textile electrode, clothing design and so on. Smart clothing for ECG monitoring can become a comfortable system which enables continuous vital sign monitoring in daily use. But, smart clothing for ECG monitoring has a weakness on artifact during motion. One of the motion artifact caused by shifting of the electrode position was affected skin change by motion. The aim of this study was to suggest electrode locations for clothing of ECG monitoring to reduce of motion artifacts. Therefore, change of skin surface during the movement were measured and analyzed in order to find location to minimize motion artifacts in ECG monitoring clothing by 3D motion capture. For the experiment, the subjects consisted of 5 males and 5 females in their 20' with average physique. As a result, the optimal location for ECG monitoring was deducted under the bust line and scapula which have least motion artifact. These locations were abstracted to be least affected by movement in this research.

TL;DR: In this article, four ECG fabrics that having different componnt yarns and weaving structures were produced to analyze their environmental durabilities and electric properties under general operation conditions including different physical and chemical stimulation.
Abstract: Recently, study of functional clothing for vital sensing is focused on improving conductivity and decreasingresistance, in order to enhance the electrocardiogram(ECG) sensing accuracy and obtained stable environmental durab ility onoperation condition. In this study, four ECG fabrics that having different componnt yarns and weaving structures were produced toanalyze their environmental durabilities and electric properties under general operation cond itions including different physical andchemical stimulation. For outstanding electric properties and physical properties, the optimized ECG sensing fabric should consist ofa fabric of 2 up 3 down twill structure containing 210de silver-coated conductive yarns and polyester yarn in warp and weftdirections respectively. The selected fabric has 0.11 which is relative lower resistance than otherwisely produced fabrics underΩECG measurement condition. And it has 7% stable resistance changes under 25% strain and repeated strain. Keywords:
