Current-driven spin torque induced by the Rashba effect in a ferromagnetic metal layer
Ioan Mihai Miron,Gilles Gaudin,Stéphane Auffret,Bernard Rodmacq,Alain Schuhl,Stefania Pizzini,Jan Vogel,Pietro Gambardella,Pietro Gambardella +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that strong magnetic fields can be induced in ferromagnetic metal films lacking structure inversion symmetry through the Rashba effect and this process makes it a realistic candidate for room-temperature spintronic applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Room-temperature chiral magnetic skyrmions in ultrathin magnetic nanostructures
Olivier Boulle,Olivier Boulle,Jan Vogel,Jan Vogel,Hongxin Yang,Hongxin Yang,Stefania Pizzini,Stefania Pizzini,Dayane de Souza Chaves,Dayane de Souza Chaves,Andrea Locatelli,Tevfik Onur Menteş,Alessandro Sala,Liliana D. Buda-Prejbeanu,Liliana D. Buda-Prejbeanu,Olivier Klein,Olivier Klein,Mohamed Belmeguenai,Yves Roussigné,Andrey Stashkevich,S. M. Chérif,Lucia Aballe,Michael Foerster,Mairbek Chshiev,Mairbek Chshiev,Stéphane Auffret,Stéphane Auffret,Ioan Mihai Miron,Ioan Mihai Miron,Gilles Gaudin,Gilles Gaudin +30 more
TL;DR: This work reports on the observation of stable skyrmions in sputtered ultrathin Pt/Co/MgO nanostructures at room temperature and zero external magnetic field, substantiated by micromagnetic simulations and numerical models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fast current-induced domain-wall motion controlled by the Rashba effect.
Ioan Mihai Miron,Thomas Moore,H. Szambolics,Liliana D. Buda-Prejbeanu,Stéphane Auffret,Bernard Rodmacq,Stefania Pizzini,Jan Vogel,Marlio Bonfim,Alain Schuhl,Gilles Gaudin +10 more
TL;DR: In an ultrathin Co nanowire, integrated in a trilayer with structural inversion asymmetry (SIA), the high spin-torque efficiency facilitates the depinning and leads to high mobility, while the SIA-mediated Rashba field controlling the domain-wall chirality stabilizes the Bloch domain- wall structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of oxygen induced anisotropy crossover in Pt/Co/MOx trilayers
Aurelien Manchon,Clarisse Ducruet,Lucien Lombard,Stéphane Auffret,B. Rodmacq,B. Dieny,Stefania Pizzini,Jan Vogel,V. Uhlíř,M. Hochstrasser,G. Panaccione +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of plasma oxidation in the onset of magnetic anisotropy at the Co/MOx interface was investigated and it was observed that varying the oxidation time modifies the magnetic properties of the Co layer, inducing a magnetic aisotropic crossover from in-plane to out-of-plane.
Journal ArticleDOI
High domain wall velocities induced by current in ultrathin Pt/Co/AlOx wires with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy
T. A. Moore,Ioan Mihai Miron,Gilles Gaudin,G. Serret,Stéphane Auffret,Bernard Rodmacq,Alain Schuhl,Stefania Pizzini,Jan Vogel,Marlio Bonfim +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, current-induced domain wall (DW) displacements in an array of ultrathin Pt/Co/AlOx wires with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy have been directly observed by wide field Kerr microscopy.
