Environmental effects of ozone depletion, UV radiation and interactions with climate change: UNEP Environmental Effects Assessment Panel, update 2017

Germar Bernhard, +41 more
TL;DR: The present 2017 Update Report assesses some of the highlights and new insights about the interactive nature of the direct and indirect effects of UV radiation, atmospheric processes, and climate change.
Journal ArticleDOI

Species-dependent variation in algal sensitivity to chemical compounds

TL;DR: It was demonstrated that the species-dependent variation in algal sensitivity may reach over three orders of magnitude, the degree of variation depending on the chemical tested, and it is suggested that algal test batteries, using simple test techniques, replace single unialgal cultures in routine work.
Journal ArticleDOI

Induced Community Tolerance in Marine Periphyton established under Arsenate Stress

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the effect of arsenate stress on marine periphyton communities and found that arsenate exerted a selection pressure on the community, leading to the replacement of sensitive species by tolerant ones which caused the overall arsenate tolerance of the community to increase.
