The Aquila comparison project: the effects of feedback and numerical methods on simulations of galaxy formation
Cecilia Scannapieco,M. Wadepuhl,Owen H. Parry,Owen H. Parry,Julio F. Navarro,Adrian Jenkins,Volker Springel,Volker Springel,Romain Teyssier,Eric Carlson,H. M. P. Couchman,Robert A. Crain,Robert A. Crain,C. Dalla Vecchia,Carlos S. Frenk,Chiaki Kobayashi,Chiaki Kobayashi,Pierluigi Monaco,Pierluigi Monaco,Giuseppe Murante,Giuseppe Murante,Takashi Okamoto,Thomas P. Quinn,Joop Schaye,G. S. Stinson,Tom Theuns,Tom Theuns,James Wadsley,Stephen White,R. M. Woods +29 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare the results of various cosmological gas-dynamical codes used to simulate the formation of a galaxy in the Λ cold dark matter structure formation paradigm.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Santa Barbara cluster comparison project: A comparison of cosmological hydrodynamics solutions
Carlos S. Frenk,Stephen White,P. Bode,J. R. Bond,Greg L. Bryan,Renyue Cen,H. M. P. Couchman,August E. Evrard,Nickolay Y. Gnedin,Adrian Jenkins,Alexei Khokhlov,Anatoly Klypin,Julio F. Navarro,Michael L. Norman,Jeremiah P. Ostriker,J. M. Owen,J. M. Owen,Frazer R. Pearce,Ue-Li Pen,Matthias Steinmetz,Peter A. Thomas,J. V. Villumsen,J. W. Wadsley,Michael S. Warren,Guohong Xu,Gustavo Yepes +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare the reliability of cosmological gas-dynamical simulations of clusters in the simplest astrophysically relevant case, that in which the gas is assumed to be nonradiative.
Journal ArticleDOI
Galaxy Clusters in Hubble Volume Simulations: Cosmological Constraints from Sky Survey Populations
August E. Evrard,T. J. MacFarland,H. M. P. Couchman,J. M. Colberg,Naoki Yoshida,Stephen White,Adrian Jenkins,Carlos S. Frenk,Frazer R. Pearce,Frazer R. Pearce,John A. Peacock,Peter A. Thomas +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, N-body simulations were used to study galaxy cluster populations in the Hubble volumes of the ΛCDM and ΓCDM world models, and the results showed that the cluster density is positively correlated with the number of galaxies in the universe.
Book
How Russia Votes
TL;DR: White, Rose, and McAllister as mentioned in this paper analyzed the momentous sequence of elections held during the collapse of the Soviet Union and the creation of the Russian Federation and concluded that Russia is a late entrant to the world of free elections.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Phoenix Project: the dark side of rich galaxy clusters
Liang Gao,Julio F. Navarro,Carlos S. Frenk,Adrian Jenkins,Volker Springel,Volker Springel,Stephen White +6 more
TL;DR: The Phoenix Project as discussed by the authors is a set of Λ cold dark matter (CDM) simulations of the dark matter component of nine rich galaxy clusters, each cluster is simulated at least at two different numerical resolutions.
