Mini-LED and Micro-LED: Promising Candidates for the Next Generation Display Technology

TL;DR: The advantages of high efficiency and long life span of conventional LED chips are inherited by miniaturized ones as the size gets smaller, the resolution enhances, but at the expense of elevating the complexity of fabrication as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hole Transport Manipulation To Improve the Hole Injection for Deep Ultraviolet Light-Emitting Diodes

TL;DR: In this paper, the barrier height of the p-type electron blocking layer (p-EBL) for ∼273 nm deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (DUV LEDs) is modified by employing a p-Al0.60Ga0.40N/Al 0.50 Ga0.50N/p-Al 0.,60Ga 0.40 N structure, in which the very thin Al0. 50Ga0.,40N layer is able to achieve a high local hole concentration, which is very effective in reducing the effective barrier height for holes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micro-LED as a Promising Candidate for High-Speed Visible Light Communication

TL;DR: This review paper provides a brief overview of the VLC-based system performance and some of its potential prospects, focusing on VLC applications based on LEDs but mainly on semipolar μ- LEDs and μ-LED-based arrays with high bandwidths.
