Journal ArticleDOI

Time-varying serum uric acid predicts new-onset atrial fibrillation in treated hypertensive patients

TL;DR: It is suggested that in-treatment serum uric acid is a strong predictor for new onset atrial fibrillation in hypertensive patients, independent of effects of antihypertensive treatment, age, sex, and electrocardiographic left ventricular hypertrophy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serum phosphate and sympathetic tone in mild essential hypertension.

TL;DR: Serum phosphate levels were significantly lowered by infusion of small amounts of adrenaline at all four infusion rates in a hypertensive group while a similar effect was obtained only at the two highest infusion rate in a normotensive group.
