Wind power resource assessment and wind-hydrogen generation potential: a case study

In this paper, wind speed assessment of a wind site located in BELAGAVI under warm humid climatic zone is proposed. Weibull and Rayleigh models were used for the statistical analysis and typical meteorological year (TMY) data was considered. Rayleigh model was found to be suitable compared to Weibull model for BELAGAVI site. The techno-economic analysis of a community microgrid in the same location was carried out considering hybrid renewable energy system for grid connected and off grid system. Promising results were obtained in terms of model and cost.

Wind Speed Assessment and Techno-Economic Analysis of a Community Microgrid in Warm and Humid Climate Zone of India

In this paper, wind potential assessment of a wind site of Indian state of Goa under warm humid climatic zone is proposed using statistical distribution functions. Weibull and Rayleigh models were used for the statistical analysis of wind speed using typical meteorological year (TMY) data and wind rose diagram was plotted to study the wind direction and velocity. The results obtained were promising in terms of wind power density and Raleigh model best suits for Goa wind site.

Wind Potential Assessment for Micropower Generation in Tropical Wet Climate of India

With indispensable and rapid ingress of renewable energy sources in power systems, the communication between the distributed energy sources has become very crucial to have a reliable distribution management system (DMS). In this paper, wireless access support is proposed for Distribution Management System (DMS) and microgrid control center (MGCC) using WiMAX protocol. MATLAB/Simulink was used to model the WiMAX physical layer. The bit error rate (BER) v/s signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) curves were plotted and promising results were obtained.
