Biodegradable and non-biodegradable fraction of municipal solid waste for multifaceted applications through a closed loop integrated refinery platform: Paving a path towards circular economy.

TL;DR: The study emphasizes the paradigm shift of solid waste management concepts from linear economy to a circular economy following the "Zero Waste" concept and explains the circular economy policies practiced forSolid waste management that stimulates the economy of the country and identify the pathways to maximize the local resources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Strength and durability characteristics of concrete made by micronized biomass silica and Bacteria-Bacillus sphaericus

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the mechanical and durability properties of high strength concrete specimens by incorporating an alternative for cement along with bacteria for healing cracks, and concluded that the use of sustainable strategies like ingesting bacterial culture into the concrete mix along with an alternative replacement for cement can act as an active support for both nature and construction industries.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel approach for the development of sustainable hybridized geopolymer mortar from waste printed circuit boards

TL;DR: In this paper, the feasibility of using NMF reclaimed from waste PCB's as a replacement to fly ash (FA) and metakaolin (MK) in a geopolymer mortar was emphasized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental Investigation on Recycled Aggregate with Laboratory Concrete Waste and Nano-Silica

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength for mechanical properties and water sorptivity and rapid chloride penetration to evaluate durability characteristics of control concrete i.e., with natural aggregate as well as 20, 40, and 60% replacement of NA with Recycled Aggregate (RA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of graphene oxide on high-strength concrete induced with rice husk ash: mechanical and durability performance

TL;DR: In this paper, the reinforcing effects of graphene oxide (GO) on high-strength concrete (HSC) made with and without rice husk ash (RHA) were evaluated, and the results depicted that mechanical and durability properties of HSC increased significantly on the incorporation of GO and further increased with partial replacement of cement with 10% RHA.
