Discretionary Foods Have a High Contribution and Fruit, Vegetables, and Legumes Have a Low Contribution to the Total Energy Intake of the Mexican Population

TL;DR: The results show the need to generate a food environment conducive to a healthier diet in the Mexican population, as discretionary foods contributed more than one-quarter of total energy intake and were 13 percentage points above the maximum allowed by the recommendations.
