Abstract: Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) has attracted attention in recent years in conducting missions for longer time with higher levels of autonomy. For the enhanced autonomous characteristic of UAV, path planning is one of the crucial issues. Current researches on the graph search algorithms under combinatorial method are mainly reviewed in this paper by keeping focus on the comprehensive surveys of its properties for path planning. The outcome is a pen picture of their assumptions and drawbacks.

Abstract: An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or robot is guided towards its goal through path planning that helps it in avoiding obstacles. Path planning generates a path between a given start and an end point for the safe and secure reach of the robot with required criteria. A number of path planning methods are available such as bio-inspired method, sampling based method, and combinatorial method. Cell decomposition technique which is known as one of the combinatorial methods can be represented with configuration space. The aim of this paper is to study the results obtained in earlier researches where cell decomposition technique has been used with different criteria like shortest travelled path, minimum computation time, memory usage, safety, completeness, and optimality. Based on the classical taxonomy, the studied methods are classified.

Abstract: This paper presents the design and implementation of microcontroller-based single-phase multilevel inverters for reducing the number of switching devices and total harmonic content at the output voltage. Multilevel inverters are suitable for high-voltage and high-current applications. The proposed system consists of a microcontroller, three separate input dc sources, isolating circuit and three cascaded H-bridge MOSFET-based voltage source inverters. A microcontroller has been used to generate proper gate signals for MOSFETs of the three H-bridge inverters. The complexity of generating gate drive signals for higher levels of inverter output voltage can be reduced dramatically using microcontroller. Maximum thirteen-level output voltage has been obtained experimentally using three number of cascaded H-bridge inverters which require less power switching devices. It is found that total harmonic distortion is reduced with increasing number of levels at the output voltage of the multilevel inverter.

Abstract: This paper addresses the simulation and practical implementation of single-phase multilevel inverters consisting of three H-bridge units to generate maximum 13level output voltage. The proposed system consists of a microcontroller, three separate input dc sources, isolating circuit and three cascaded H-bridge MOSFET-based voltage source inverters. The proper gate signals for MOSFETs of the three H-bridge inverters are generated by using ATmega 2560 microcontroller-based Arduino board. The complexity of generating gate drive signals for higher levels of inverter output voltage can be reduced dramatically using microcontroller. Different-level output voltage has been obtained from simulation and experimental works using three number of cascaded H-bridge inverters which require less power switching devices. The simulation and experimental results show that total harmonic distortion is reduced with increasing number of levels at the output voltage of the multilevel inverter. It is found that the experimental results are almost similar compared to the simulated results.

Abstract: Measurements of x-ray diffraction (XRD) profiles have been performed on commercially pure Fe and Al powders, cryomilled Fe–3 wt.% Al powders, cold pressed (CP) pure Fe and Al, hot pressed (HP) and hot isostatically pressed (HIP) Fe–3 wt.% Al. Scherrer equation (SE), integral breadth analysis (IBA), and single-line approximation (SLA) methods have been employed to extract grain size and microstrain. The results demonstrate that, in the case of the cryomilled nanocrystalline Fe–3 wt.% Al powders, all these XRD techniques yielded reasonable, consistent grain size results. However, discrepancies were found in cold pressed (CP-Fe), hot pressed (HP-Fe–3 wt.% Al), and hot isostatically pressed (HIP-Fe–3 wt.% Al) samples. TEM imaging revealed the presence of a certain density of dislocations inside the grains in the HP-Fe–3 wt.% Al and HIP-Fe–3 wt.% Al, which is thought to be partly or fully responsible for the observed discrepancies.

Abstract: Conventional plasma spraying was used to process atomized liquid droplets of precursor solutions to produce alumina, zirconia and yttria stabilized zirconia nanoparticles and deposits. An electrostatic precipitator collected the plasma synthesized ceramic particles at a rate of ~0.2 mg s −1 , with ~5–20% collection efficiency. Spray processing produced 1–50 nm size ceramic particles. The size, shape and phase composition of the nanomaterials depend on the spray feedstock. Organo-metallic precursors gave rise to a narrow range of fine-grained material, while aqueous solutions produced wider distributions of larger size grains. Spray processing of liquid feedstock produced nanodeposits with a powdery morphology. Plasma spraying of liquid precursors is a viable technique to produce nanoparticles and deposits.
