Analytic hierarchy process based automatic generation control of multi-area interconnected power system using Jaya algorithm

TL;DR: The efficacy and superiority of the proposed Jaya algorithm based PID controller is shown by comparing simulation results with other algorithms like particle swarm optimization (PSO), differential evolution (DE), Nelder-Mead simplex (NMS), elephant herding optimization (EHO) and teacher learner based optimization (TLBO).
Journal ArticleDOI

A modified bacteria foraging based optimal power flow framework for Hydro-Thermal-Wind generation system in the presence of STATCOM

TL;DR: In this paper, the combined operation of hydro-thermal-wind (HTW) system is formulated in an optimal power flow (OPF) framework, where the objective is to find an optimal generation schedule for the HTW system where the system will work economically and in a voltage secure manner with reduced loss during normal as well as stressed system operation.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Optimal power dispatch using BAT algorithm

TL;DR: The optimal solution of economic load dispatch (ELD) is obtained using the proposed bat algorithm and it is shown that the proposed method has good convergence property and better in quality of solution than PSO and IWD reported in recent literature.
Journal ArticleDOI

A synchrophasor measurement based wide-area power system stabilizer design for inter-area oscillation damping considering variable time-delays

TL;DR: The present work of the design of wide-area power system stabilizer (WAPSS) utilizing information contained in synchrophasor measurements for inter-area oscillation damping considering variable communication time-delays establishes the achievement of desired performance by the recently proposed, simple yet efficient, Jaya algorithm based WAPSSs.
