Journal ArticleDOI
Allometric models for above- and below-ground biomass of Sonneratia spp.
TL;DR: Overall, the addition of the tree heights or wood density variable in biomass allometric model development can increase the accuracy of the model, however the results are not significantly different than the model that uses only the stem diameter variable.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the geometry and allometry of big-buttressed trees - a challenge for forest monitoring: new insights from 3D-modeling with terrestrial laser scanning
TL;DR: A methodological study aimed at determining the volume and biomass of individual buttressed trees belonging to several tropical species by the application of terrestrial laser scanning, which suggests the relationship between cross-sectional areas at DAB height (ADAB) and the actual tree basal area measured at 1.3 m height is relatively strong.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tampubolon,Campbell O. Webb,Campbell O. Webb +47 more
TL;DR: Based on the current inventory of permanent sampling plots (PSPs) in Indonesia, there is high potential to establish a long-term collaborative forest monitoring network as discussed by the authors, which can help us understand and better conserve these exceptionally diverse ecosystems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatial Model of Deforestation in Sumatra Islands Using Typological Approach
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined how the deforestation pattern was related to the typology of the area, as well as the deforestation is being affected by many factors such as physical, biological, and socio-economic of the local community.
