Journal ArticleDOI

Ability of white-rot fungi to remove selected pharmaceuticals and identification of degradation products of ibuprofen by Trametes versicolor.

TL;DR: In vitro experiments showed that extracellular fungal enzyme systems did not appear to play a role in the first step of degradation, but in vivo studies using the cytochrome P450 inhibitors 1-aminobenzotriazole and piperonyl butoxide suggested that the cy tochrome P 450 system may be involved in thefirst step of CLOFI and CARBA oxidation by T. versicolor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanism of textile metal dye biotransformation by Trametes versicolor.

TL;DR: The biodegradation of Grey Lanaset G, which consists of a mixture of metal complexed dye, was studied and the metal contents of the biomass and treated solutions, and their closer relationship to intracellular enzyme and degradation of the dye confirm the initial hypothesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of influent COD/N ratio on biological nitrogen removal (BNR) from high-strength ammonium industrial wastewater

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of influent COD/N ratio on biological nitrogen removal from high-strength ammonium industrial wastewater was investigated in a modified Ludzack-Ettinger pilot-plant configuration for 365 days.
Journal ArticleDOI

Degradation of the drug sodium diclofenac by Trametes versicolor pellets and identification of some intermediates by NMR.

TL;DR: In vivo and in vitro experiments using the cytochrome P450 inhibitor 1-aminobenzotriazole and purified laccase suggested at least two different mechanisms employed by T. versicolor to initiate diclofenac degradation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Degradation of carbamazepine by Trametes versicolor in an air pulsed fluidized bed bioreactor and identification of intermediates

TL;DR: The paper describes the aerobic degradation of carbamazepine (CBZ), an anti-epileptic drug widely found in aquatic environment, from Erlenmeyer flask to bioreactor by the white-rot fungus Trametes versicolor, and indicates that the final culture broth in both batch and continuous mode operation were non toxic.
