A video analytics system includes a first database for storing searchable time-stamped transactional data indicative of activity within a monitored system, a second database for storing time-stamped video metadata, wherein the time-stamped video metadata comprises searchable attributes associated with a raw video data stream; and a rule-based correlation server for comparing the time-stamped transactional data with the time-stamped video metadata to identify correlation events indicating potential activity of interest. An output subsystem reports the correlation events from the correlation engine. The analytics system is useful for detecting fraud in ATM transactions by comparing the transactional data, for example, the presence of a transaction, with video metadata, for example, indicating whether a transaction occurs when a person is present, for how long the person is there.

The mechanism is based on the Oracle idea, where a peer is informed on closely located P2P nodes suggesting connection to them. The method realizes QoS control to lower transmission delay and packet lose rate. Multi-source flow media transmission QoS control method

In peer-to-peer streaming system, multicast tree construction method has considerable influence on network load. Current available strategies have not used network resource economically, or approach network resource friendship at the cost of flexibility. With consideration of transmission delay between peers, network friendly tree is proposed in this paper. In this strategy, new peers connect to the peer-to-peer streaming system with efforts to minimize additional transmission delays. According to the simulation experimental results, the proposed strategy network friendly tree works well.

In Peer-to-Peer(P2P) streaming system, the multicasting tree construction method influences considerably on network load. Under current available strategies, network resources are not used economically, or network resource friendship and the flexibility can't be approached thoroughly. With the increasing application of Internet, network infrastructure itself becomes a precious resource, which should be performed effectively. In our implementation, network transmission delay between the peers is detected, used as practical performance metrics of the P2P streaming system. Ac- cording to the metrics, network friendly tree is provided as overlay multicasting tree construction strategy for P2P streaming system. In this strategy, additional transmis- sion delays are minimized as new peers enter. The simulation experiment presents that the proposed strategy network friendly tree works better than other contrasts. And the transmission performance improves significantly at minor additional cost.

Transmission Latency based Network Friendly Tree for Peer-to-Peer Streaming

Recently multi-channel multimedia broadcast systems on P2P network have emerged in applications such as long-distance education and multimedia broadcast television. With the conflict between huge amounts of streaming data and limited available bandwidth over the Internet seemingly irreconcilable, we observe 1) some channels demand disseminating rapidly, having no requirement for high presentation quality at receivers and 2) some channels expect better quality of service metrics such as bit rate and delay than others while bandwidth contention of multiple channels makes it difficult to realize. Existing proposals have not done enough work based on the two observations. In this paper, we propose DiffStream, a multi-channel dissemination strategy. In DiffStream, each channel disseminates partial streaming data instead of all, using MDC technology. Meanwhile, service differentiation is also achieved by treating different channels with varying priorities and regulating allocation of network resource to different channels in application layer. Furthermore, an extensive mechanism of vacant bandwidth preemption for improving bandwidth utilization is also raised. Experiments are constructed on NS2 and the results have demonstrated DiffStream’s effectiveness in achieving our design objectives.

DiffStream: A Multi-channel Multimedia Content Dissemination Strategy Using MDC

In peer-to-peer streaming system, multicasting tree is essential to application performance and network transmission resource usage. Currently, available multicasting tree construction strategy optimize for source to client delay, load balance, etc. But network resource occupation of these strategy is not carefully studied. In this paper, network resource usage of application is analyzed. Then, metrics of network resource usage is proposed. Accordingly, Transmission Resource Saving Tree(TRST) is proposed. In order to make our experimental reliable, transmission delay and jitter are sampled from PlanetLab. Contrast experiments is carried out. According to the results, our proposed strategy consumes less network resources to serve the same set of peers.
