Successful integration of R&D functions after acquisitions: An exploratory empirical study

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the role of strategic context characteristics of an acquisition in the integration success of R&D functions after a takeover and found that the use of management interventions which were designed to promote learning opportunities and reduce uncertainty for acquired employees (e.g., small group meetings to exchange information) was significantly positively related to the integration level of both firms after an acquisition.
