Journal ArticleDOI

A review of rotorcraft Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) developments and applications in civil engineering

TL;DR: An overview of the state of UAV developments and their possible applications in civil engineering is given and the latest developments in technologies related to UAVs are reviewed, such as control theories, navigation methods, and image processing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Filtering disaster responses using crowdsourcing

TL;DR: To verify the ACI filter, 876 responses collected from an actual flood that occurred on June 10th, 2012, in Taiwan, were used and showed that the ACi filter, by combining machine and human intelligence, can successfully improve crowd response accuracy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Image-based semantic construction reconstruction

TL;DR: A method to rapidly acquire the geometric information, positions, and dimension data of construction objects from on-site cameras and then generate a virtual construction scene that allows engineers to re-plan an operation in a semantic virtual construction instead of risking re- Planning on the actual site.
Journal ArticleDOI

AR-based automatic pipeline planning coordination for on-site mechanical, electrical and plumbing system conflict resolution

TL;DR: In this article , an on-site pipeline inspection and automatic coordination approach by using Augmented Reality (AR) and a grid-based path-planning algorithm is developed, allowing the site practitioners to compare the newly added pipe layout plan with the existing pipelines and re-plan the pipe layout where encountered conflicts, further obtaining a solution without clashes.
