Journal ArticleDOI
Recurrent miscarriage: current concepts in diagnosis and treatment
Bettina Toth,Udo Jeschke,Nina Rogenhofer,Christoph Scholz,W. Würfel,Christian J. Thaler,Antonis Makrigiannakis +6 more
TL;DR: Current concepts on diagnosis and treatment in RM are summarized, drawing upon research reports and international guidelines to provide insights into the pathophysiology of pregnancy disrupted by repeated miscarriage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Yolk sac macrophage progenitors traffic to the embryo during defined stages of development.
Christopher Stremmel,R. Schuchert,F. Wagner,Raffael Thaler,Tobias Weinberger,Robert Pick,Elvira Mass,Hellen Ishikawa-Ankerhold,Andreas Margraf,Stefan Hutter,Ronald J. Vagnozzi,Sarah Klapproth,Jon Frampton,Simon Yona,Christoph Scheiermann,Jeffery D. Molkentin,Udo Jeschke,Markus Moser,Markus Sperandio,Steffen Massberg,Frederic Geissmann,Christian Schulz +21 more
TL;DR: F fate mapping and intravital microscopy are used to track the movement of resident macrophage precursors from the yolk sac to fetal tissues during development and close an important gap in the understanding of the development of the innate immune system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multicentric and multifocal versus unifocal breast cancer: is the tumor-node-metastasis classification justified?
Tobias Weissenbacher,Madeleine Zschage,Wolfgang Janni,Udo Jeschke,Thomas Dimpfl,Doris Mayr,Brigitte Rack,Christian Schindlbeck,Klaus Friese,Darius Dian +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that multicentric/multifocal BC is an independent BC risk factor and should be included in the risk assessment by re-evaluating the current TNM classification of the UICC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroendocrine-immune disequilibrium and endometriosis: an interdisciplinary approach.
Nadja Tariverdian,Theoharis C. Theoharides,Friederike Siedentopf,Gabriela Gutiérrez,Udo Jeschke,Gabriel A. Rabinovich,Gabriel A. Rabinovich,Sandra M. Blois,Petra C. Arck +8 more
TL;DR: The role of different immune mechanisms particularly adhesion molecules, protein–glycan interactions, and pro-angiogenic mediators in the development and progression of the disease are discussed and endometrial dissemination as result of a neuroendocrine-immune disequilibrium in response to high levels of perceived stress caused by cardinal clinical symptoms of endometriosis is introduced.
Journal Article
Expression of sialyl lewis X, sialyl Lewis A, E-cadherin and cathepsin-D in human breast cancer: immunohistochemical analysis in mammary carcinoma in situ, invasive carcinomas and their lymph node metastasis.
Udo Jeschke,Ioannis Mylonas,Naim Shabani,Christiane Kunert-Keil,Christian Schindlbeck,Bernd Gerber,Klaus Friese +6 more
TL;DR: Combined analysis of tumor antigens involved in adhesion of breast cancer cells showed a negative correlation between Sialyl Lewis antIGens and E-cadherin as the risk of metastasis progresses.
