Rate of mutual information between coarse-grained non-Markovian variables

TL;DR: A numerical method to estimate the Shannon entropy rate of continuous time hidden-Markov processes from a single time series is developed and an analytical upper bound on the rate of mutual information is calculated for a class of Markov processes for which the transition rates have a bipartite character.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluctuation-Dissipation Theorem in Nonequilibrium Steady States

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that for systems with a genuine equilibrium state, the fluctuation-dissipation theorem differs from its equilibrium form by an additive term involving the total entropy production.
Journal ArticleDOI

Curvature-coupling dependence of membrane protein diffusion coefficients

TL;DR: In this study, the lateral diffusion of a protein interacting with the curvature of the membrane is considered and it is found that this curvature coupling substantially enhances the diffusion coefficient.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antagonist-Induced Deadhesion of Specifically Adhered Vesicles

TL;DR: Two new control mechanisms for antagonist-induced deadhesion are identified and a new method is provided for the determination of the receptor binding affinity of either the surface-embedded ligands or the competing antagonist molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystallization in a sheared colloidal suspension

TL;DR: Numerically the crystallization process in a supersaturated suspension of repulsive colloidal particles driven by simple shear flow is studied, demonstrating that the suppression of nucleation is due to the inhibition of a pre-structured liquid.
