We investigate whether income inequality affects subsequent growth in a cross-country sample for 1965-90, using the models of Barro (1997), Bleaney and Nishiyama (2002) and Sachs and Warner (1997), with negative results. We then investigate the evolution of income inequality over the same period and its correlation with growth. The dominating feature is inequality convergence across countries. It is part of the economic, legal and moral exercises of a business element guided towards enhancing the business and societal desires. However, companies are facing various issues while adopting CSR practices, particularly Indonesian logistics companies. Challenges in the way of CSR practices affect adversely on customer satisfaction. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to highlight the role of CSR in customer satisfaction among Indonesian logistics firms. In this study, opinions of logistics customers were gathered through survey questionnaires. All the responses were analyzed through structural equation modeling technique. The findings of the study suggest that logistics companies should focus on two CSR practices, 1) environmental contribution and, 2) human resources. Purpose




The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between corporate entrepreneurship (CE), organizational culture (OC) and business performance (BP). Additionally, the study has attempted to address the moderating influence of OC on CE–BP relationship.




Design/methodology/approach




Data were collected from middle managers of Big Five banks of Pakistan. A two-step approach to structural equation modeling was used. Using confirmatory factor analysis, the measurement model fit was determined. The significance of the theoretical relationship was assessed using structural model.




Findings




The results have supported the hypothesized direct and moderated relationship.




Originality/value




The present study extends the body of knowledge in testing the resource-based view of the firm theory and contingency theory through providing empirical evidence on the hypothesized relationships. Additionally, the study has contributed in the existing theory through evaluating the moderating of OC by using interaction effect in partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).

Corporate entrepreneurship and business performance: The moderating role of organizational culture in selected banks in Pakistan

The ground aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between individual factors of corporate entrepreneurship and business performance. This investigation was expected to bring in un-revealed results as the past literature does not provide any sufficient evidence for the proposed model. The study used survey method to collect data from the big five banks in Pakistan. For this reason a total of 256 responses were collected from the bank branch managers on the topic, using stratified random sampling technique. Through using PLS structural Equation Modeling, the study employed the use of SmartPLS 3.0 for executing tests pertaining to reliability and validity, this was ensured by evaluating measurement model. Next, the study assessed structure model, under which the research has revealed that out of the 5 mentioned dimensions of corporate entrepreneurship only three have resulted in a significant relationship with business performance; this was followed by assessment of r-squared values and predictive relevance of the model keeping in view the recommendations from the popular literature. Implications for further research and management professionals are mentioned in detail.
