TL;DR: The model employs a two-layer feed-forward artificial neural network strategy to represent the relationship between the viscosity and the input variables: temperature, pressure, and group contributions (GCs).
Abstract: A knowledge of various thermophysical (in particular transport) properties of ionic liquids (ILs) is crucial from the point of view of potential applications of these fluids in chemical and related industries. In this work, over 13 000 data points of temperature- and pressure-dependent viscosity of 1484 ILs were retrieved from more than 450 research papers published in the open literature in the last three decades. The data were critically revised and then used to develop and test a new model allowing in silico predictions of the viscosities of ILs on the basis of the chemical structures of their cations and anions. The model employs a two-layer feed-forward artificial neural network (FFANN) strategy to represent the relationship between the viscosity and the input variables: temperature, pressure, and group contributions (GCs). In total, the resulting GC-FFANN model employs 242 GC-type molecular descriptors that are capable of accurately representing the viscosity behavior of ILs composed of 901 distinct...

TL;DR: This study investigated whether inhibition of CXCR4 with the specific inhibitor AMD3100 sensitizes human prostate cancer cells to docetaxel and showed that both mouse and human stromal cell lines have a protective effect on PC3-luc cells by promoting their survival after chemotherapy, and concluded that CX CR4 inhibition chemosensitizes prostate cancer Cells, both in vitro and in vivo.

TL;DR: The specific advantages brought up by a design based on the use of the halogen bond will be demonstrated in quite different fields spanning from material sciences to biomolecular recognition and drug design.
Abstract: The halogen bond occurs when there is evidence of a net attractive interaction between an electrophilic region associated with a halogen atom in a molecular entity and a nucleophilic region in another, or the same, molecular entity. In this fairly extensive review, after a brief history of the interaction, we will provide the reader with a snapshot of where the research on the halogen bond is now, and, perhaps, where it is going. The specific advantages brought up by a design based on the use of the halogen bond will be demonstrated in quite different fields spanning from material sciences to biomolecular recognition and drug design.

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive database on physical properties of ionic liquids (ILs), collected from 109 kinds of literature sources in the period from 1984 through 2004, has been presented, which includes 1680 pieces of data on the physical properties for 588 available ILs, from which 276 kinds of cations and 55 kinds of anions were extracted.
Abstract: A comprehensive database on physical properties of ionic liquids (ILs), which was collected from 109 kinds of literature sources in the period from 1984 through 2004, has been presented. There are 1680 pieces of data on the physical properties for 588 available ILs, from which 276 kinds of cations and 55 kinds of anions were extracted. In terms of the collected database, the structure-property relationship was evaluated. The correlation of melting points of two most common systems, disubstituted imidazolium tetrafluoroborate and disubstituted imidazolium hexafluorophosphate, was carried out using a quantitative structure-property relationship method.
