Abstract: Potential-step experiments have been used to investigate the electrodeposition of polyselenienyl thiophene films. It is shown that the initial step in the formation of films is a nucleation process. The electrochemical data obtained show many similarities to that for the nucleation and growth of a metal film. Furthermore, atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to specify the growth morphology for thin coverages of perchlorate-doped polyselenienyl thiophene.
