Journal ArticleDOI

Allylstannation: II. A total “cis-preference” in the addition of n-Bu2ClSnCH(CH3)CHCH2 to aldehydes

TL;DR: In this paper, the first example of total "cis-preference" in the addition of Grignard-like reagents to carbonyl compounds has been shown in terms of steric requirements around the tin centre which is probably five coordinate in the transition state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Allylbutyltin halides (CH2CHCH2)SnBu3−nCln (n = 0, 1, 2, 3). Preparation, carbon-13 NMR characterization and allylstannylation ability towards ketones and aldehydes

TL;DR: Mixed allylbutyltin halides (CH2CHCH2)SnBu3-nCln (n = 0-3) have been prepared, and characterized by carbon-13 NMR spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

A tetranuclear complex of tin: Crystal structure of {[(n-C4H9)2SnOOCCCl3]2O}2 and related properties in solution

TL;DR: The structure of the title compound has been determined by X-ray analysis as mentioned in this paper, which is a planar, central, four-membered Sn 2 O 2 ring in the solid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reversible allylstannation of carbonyl compounds; a new route to mixed allyltins via allylcarbinols

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that di-n-butylally-ltin chloride readily adds to ketones and aldehydes to form organotin alkoxides of the type: n-Bu2ClSnOCR′R$(CH2CHCH2) in some cases this reaction is reversible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reversible crotylstannation of carbonyl compounds. Crotylstannation ability of Bu3-nClnSnCH2CHCHCH3 (n = 0, 1, 2) compounds towards acetone and benzaldehyde and 13C NMR characterization

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the ability of the organostannoxy compounds to yield crotyl butylchlorotins via elimination increases in the order, and the sequence of increasing reactivity was found to be Bu 3 SnCrot 2 ClSn-OcNcrot 2 BuSnCrot (Crot = Crotyl).
