Journal ArticleDOI
Subgroups of Sjögren syndrome patients according to serological profiles
TL;DR: Although not all of the above mentioned antibodies are useful for predicting distinct patient subgroups in SS, knowledge of the clinical associations of the different autoantibody specificities encountered in SS can advance understanding of the disease and improve patient management.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of coronary artery lesions and myocardial necrosis by magnetic resonance in systemic necrotizing vasculitides.
Sophie Mavrogeni,Menelaos N. Manoussakis,T. C. Karagiorga,Marouso Douskou,Demosthenes B. Panagiotakos,Vasiliki-Kalliopi Bournia,Dennis V. Cokkinos,Haralampos M. Moutsopoulos +7 more
TL;DR: Cardiovascular MRI assessment of patients with systemic vasculitis revealed coronary ectatic disease in the majority of patientswith MPA and PAN, as well as in several patients with WG.
Journal ArticleDOI
Therapeutic Inhibition of Tyrosine Kinases in Systemic Sclerosis: A Review of Published Experience on the First 108 Patients Treated with Imatinib
TL;DR: Experimental and clinical evidence suggest that imatinib could be considered as an individualized treatment approach in severe SSc and underscores the need to identify markers for selecting particular patients, who will safely respond to therapeutic inhibition of tyrosine kinases.
Journal Article
Adverse events and infections in patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated with conventional drugs or biologic agents: a real world study.
C.E. Lampropoulos,Philippos Orfanos,Vasiliki-Kalliopi Bournia,T. Karatsourakis,Clio P. Mavragani,Dimitrios Pikazis,Menelaos N. Manoussakis,Athanasios G. Tzioufas,Haralampos M. Moutsopoulos,Panayiotis G. Vlachoyiannopoulos +9 more
TL;DR: The risk of any AE among RA patients treated with bDMARDs was significantly higher compared to those treated with s DMARDs, and the hypothesis that AEs, including infections, are rather common in patients receiving bDMards than in those receiving sDMARDSs was tested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiac magnetic resonance predicts ventricular arrhythmias in scleroderma: the Scleroderma Arrhythmia Clinical Utility Study (SAnCtUS)
Sophie Mavrogeni,Luna Gargani,Alessia Pepe,Lorenzo Monti,George Markousis-Mavrogenis,Maria De Santis,Daniele De Marchi,Loukia Koutsogeorgopoulou,Georgia Karabela,Efthymios Stavropoulos,Gikas Katsifis,Konstantinos Bratis,Silvia Bellando-Randone,Serena Guiducci,Cosimo Bruni,Alberto Moggi-Pignone,Theodoros Dimitroulas,Genovefa Kolovou,Vasiliki-Kalliopi Bournia,Petros P. Sfikakis,Marco Matucci-Cerinic +20 more
TL;DR: The SAnCtUS score was created, a four-category scoring system based on T2 ratio and %LGE, for identifying SSc patients at high risk of experiencing ventricular rhythm disturbance at baseline, and had the greatest utility as independent predictors of rhythm disturbances in SSc customers.
