Journal ArticleDOI
Nano illumination microscopy: a technique based on scanning with an array of individually addressable nanoLEDs
Nil Franch,J. Canals,Victor Moro,Anna Vilà,Albert Romano-Rodriguez,Juan Daniel Prades,Jan Gülink,Daria D. Bezshlyakh,Andreas Waag,Katarzyna Kluczyk-Korch,Matthias Auf der Maur,Aldo Di Carlo,Angel Dieguez +12 more
TL;DR: The operation principle of this new approach to lensless microscopy is presented, with simulations that demonstrate the possibility to use it for super-resolution, as well as a first prototype that validates the imaging principle and opens the way to improve resolution by further miniaturizing the light sources.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Towards a super-resolution structured illumination microscope based on an array of nanoLEDs
Nil Franch,J. Canals,Victor Moro,Oscar Alonso,Sergio Moreno,Anna Vilà,Joan Daniel Prades,Jan Gülink,Hutomo Suryo Wasisto,Andreas Waag,Angel Dieguez +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a prototype for a new approach to microscopy: a system basing its resolving power on the light emitters instead of the sensors, without using lenses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pursuing the Diffraction Limit with Nano-LED Scanning Transmission Optical Microscopy.
Sergio Moreno,J. Canals,Victor Moro,Nil Franch,Anna Vilà,Albert Romano-Rodriguez,Joan Daniel Prades,Daria D. Bezshlyakh,Andreas Waag,Katarzyna Kluczyk-Korch,Matthias Auf der Maur,Aldo Di Carlo,Sigurd Krieger,Silvana Geleff,Angel Dieguez +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, an optically downscaled LED using an LED scanning transmission optical microscopy (STOM) technique was used to improve STOM images by oversampling the acquisition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Processing and Characterization of Monolithic Passive-Matrix GaN-Based MicroLED Arrays With Pixel Sizes From 5 to 50 µm
Steffen Bornemann,Jan Gülink,Victor Moro,Joan Gil,Stefan Wolter,Georg Schottler,Daria D. Bezshlyakh,Joan Daniel Prades,Angel Dieguez,Andreas Waag +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a scalable chip process chain for the fabrication of passive-matrix microLED arrays, which were integrated with PCB-based driving electronics, was described, and the arrays were produced by deep-etching of conventional planar LED structures on sapphire, followed by filling and planarization steps.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
A shadow image microscope based on an array of nanoLEDs
J. Canals,Victor Moro,Nil Franch,Sergio Moreno,Oscar Alonso,Anna Vilà,Juan Daniel Prades,Jan Gülink,Daria D. Bezshlyakh,Andreas Waag,Angel Dieguez +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, a compact low-cost and straightforward shadow imaging microscopy technique based on spatially resolved nano-illumination instead of spatially resolving detection is presented. But this technique is not suitable for indoor applications.
