Journal ArticleDOI

Pulsatile Stimulation Determines Timing and Specificity of NF-κB-Dependent Transcription

TL;DR: Altering the stimulation intervals gave different patterns of NF-κB–dependent gene expression, which supports the idea that oscillation frequency has a functional role in nuclear factor κB regulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gold nanoparticles delivery in mammalian live cells: a critical review

TL;DR: This review mainly focuses on gold nanoparticles and discusses the various approaches to nanoparticle delivery, including surface chemical modifications and several methods used to facilitate cellular uptake and endosomal escape.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type IV (CaMKIV) inhibits apoptosis induced by potassium deprivation in cerebellar granule neurons

TL;DR: Evidence is presented that blockade of L‐type Ca2+ channels (nifedipine sensitive) but not N/P/Q‐ type Ca2 + channels (omega‐conotoxin MVIIC sensitive) triggered apoptosis and CPP32/ caspase‐3‐like activity, suggesting that CaMKIV exerts neuroprotective effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Negotiation of intracellular membrane barriers by TAT-modified gold nanoparticles.

TL;DR: Support is provided for the hypothesis that cell-penetrating peptides can enable small objects to negotiate membrane barriers also in the absence of dedicated transport mechanisms.
