TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present trends in published MIS research for an 11-year period, 1993-2003, and compare these trends with those of the earlier study. But the results clearly indicate the focus of efforts of researchers on information system usage and information systems resource management.
Abstract: This article presents trends in published MIS research for an 11 year period, 1993-2003. It is an update of a previous article in CAIS (Volume 11, Article 16) that covered the period 1993-1997. All of the articles in seven mainstream MIS journals were examined in terms of subjects researched and methodologies employed to conduct research. Recent trends are presented and compared to those of the earlier study. The results clearly indicate the focus of efforts of researchers on information system usage and information systems resource management. The survey methodology still appeals to many researchers but increases in the use of mathematical models and laboratory experiments is an indication that the field is attaining maturity by using more rigorous research methods.

TL;DR: Results indicate support for the model and suggest that perceived privacy empowerment has a strong influence on both privacy concern and trust in e-commerce.
Abstract: Privacy concerns and a lack of trust have been shown to reduce consumer's willingness to transact with an online vendor. Understandably, firms are searching for methods to reduce consumer privacy concerns and increase trust. In this study, we introduce a new construct-consumer privacy empowerment. We then propose and test a theoretical model that examines the relationship between consumer privacy empowerment, familiarity, privacy concern and trust. Results indicate support for the model and suggest that perceived privacy empowerment has a strong influence on both privacy concern and trust in e-commerce.

TL;DR: A comprehensive research model of OSS success is developed which includes both extrinsic and intrinsic attributes and shows marked differences in some of the relationships at different points in time lending support to the notion that different factors need to be emphasized as the OSS project unfolds over time.

TL;DR: Examination of perceptions between the genders concerning consumer empowerment and privacy concerns shows that empowerment has a stronger positive effect on trust for males than for females, and that privacy concerns have stronger negative impact onTrust for females than for males.
Abstract: Consumer empowerment is a psychological construct related to the individual's perception of the extent to which he/she can control the distribution and use of his/her personally identifying information. It has been argued to have an impact on consumers' privacy concerns and trust in e-commerce. However, very little is known about the difference in male and female perceptions of this control. This investigation is focused on examining how perceptions between the genders differ concerning consumer empowerment and privacy concerns, and how the consumer empowerment results in perceptions of trust and decrease in privacy concerns. We test our proposed hypotheses using data collected from 322 experienced online consumers. Our results show that empowerment has a stronger positive effect on trust for males than for females, and that privacy concerns have stronger negative impact on trust for females than for males.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a method to use the information of the user's interaction with the system to improve the performance of the system. But they do not consider the impact of the interaction on the overall system.
