Monte Carlo study of the influence of antiferromagnetic exchange interactions on the phase transitions of ferromagnetic Ni-Mn-X alloys (X=In,Sn,Sb)
Vasiliy D. Buchelnikov,Peter Entel,Sergey Taskaev,Vladimir V. Sokolovskiy,Alfred Hucht,Masako Ogura,Hisazumi Akai,Markus E. Gruner,Sanjeev K. Nayak +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Monte Carlo simulations using the Potts model Hamiltonian were used to investigate the complex temperature dependence of magnetization of ferromagnetic Heusler alloys, in which part of the Mn atoms, which occupied the $X$ sites, interacted antiferromagnetically with the NM atoms on the Mn sublattice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetocaloric effect in Ni-Mn-X (X = Ga, In, Sn, Sb) Heusler alloys
TL;DR: A review of experimental and theoretical works concerning the investigation of magnetic and structural phase transitions and of the magnetocaloric effect in Ni-Mn-X (X = Ga, In, Sn, Sb) Heusler alloys is given in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
First-principles and Monte Carlo study of magnetostructural transition and magnetocaloric properties of Ni 2 + x Mn 1 − x Ga
Vasiliy D. Buchelnikov,Vladimir V. Sokolovskiy,Vladimir V. Sokolovskiy,Heike C. Herper,Hubert Ebert,Markus E. Gruner,Sergey Taskaev,Vladimir Khovaylo,Alfred Hucht,Antje Dannenberg,Masako Ogura,Hisazumi Akai,Mehmet Acet,Peter Entel +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, first-principles calculations of magnetic exchange parameters of the austenitic and martensitic phases of Ni-Mn-Ga allow one to characterize this Heusler system across the phase diagram in agreement with experimental trends.
Journal ArticleDOI
First-principles investigation of chemical and structural disorder in magnetic Ni 2 Mn 1 + x Sn 1 − x Heusler alloys
Vladimir V. Sokolovskiy,Vladimir V. Sokolovskiy,Vasiliy D. Buchelnikov,Mikhail A. Zagrebin,Peter Entel,Sanjubala Sahoo,Sanjubala Sahoo,Masako Ogura +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present ab initio calculations of magnetic exchange parameters of stoichiometric Heusler compound Ni${}_{2}$MnSn and a few nonstoichiometric Ni-Mn-Sn alloys, which are compared to those obtained from a mean field approximation using the Heisenberg model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complex magnetic ordering as a driving mechanism of multifunctional properties of Heusler alloys from first principles
Peter Entel,Mario Siewert,Markus E. Gruner,Heike C. Herper,Denis Comtesse,Raymundo Arroyave,Navedeep Singh,Anjana Talapatra,Vladimir V. Sokolovskiy,Vladimir V. Sokolovskiy,Vasiliy D. Buchelnikov,Franca Albertini,Lara Righi,Volodymyr A. Chernenko,Volodymyr A. Chernenko +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the structural, electronic and magnetic properties of (Pd, Pt)-Mn-Ni-(Ga, In, Sn, Sb) alloys, which display multifunctional properties like the magnetic shape-memory, magnetocaloric and exchange bias effect, were investigated.
