Journal ArticleDOI
Fractional flow reserve versus angiography for guiding percutaneous coronary intervention
Bernard De Bruyne,Uwe Siebert,Fumiaki Ikeno,Volker Klauss,Ganesh Manoharan,Thomas Engstrøm,Keith G. Oldroyd,Peter N. Ver Lee,Philip MacCarthy,William F. Fearon +9 more
TL;DR: Routine measurement of FFR in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease who are undergoing PCI with drug-eluting stents significantly reduces the rate of the composite end point of death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, and repeat revascularization at 1 year.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fractional Flow Reserve Versus Angiography for Guiding Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients With Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease: 2-Year Follow-Up of the FAME (Fractional Flow Reserve Versus Angiography for Multivessel Evaluation) Study
Nico H.J. Pijls,William F. Fearon,Pim A.L. Tonino,Uwe Siebert,Uwe Siebert,Fumiaki Ikeno,Bernhard Bornschein,Marcel van 't Veer,Volker Klauss,Ganesh Manoharan,Thomas Engstrøm,Keith G. Oldroyd,Peter N. Ver Lee,Philip MacCarthy,Bernard De Bruyne,Fame Study Investigators +15 more
TL;DR: Routine measurement of FFR in patients with multivessel CAD undergoing PCI with drug-eluting stents significantly reduces mortality and myocardial infarction at 2 years when compared with standard angiography-guided PCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Zotarolimus-Eluting and Everolimus-Eluting Coronary Stents
Patrick W. Serruys,Sigmund Silber,Scot Garg,Robert-Jan van Geuns,Gert Richardt,Paweł Buszman,Henning Kelbæk,Adrianus J. van Boven,Sjoerd H. Hofma,Axel Linke,Volker Klauss,William Wijns,Carlos Macaya,Philippe Garot,Carlo DiMario,Ganesh Manoharan,Ran Kornowski,Thomas Ischinger,Antonio L. Bartorelli,Jacintha Ronden,Marco Bressers,Pierre Gobbens,Manuela Negoita,Frank van Leeuwen,Stephan Windecker +24 more
TL;DR: At 13 months, the new-generation zotarolimus-eluting stent was found to be noninferior to the everolimus -elutingStent in a population of patients who had minimal exclusion criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biolimus-eluting stent with biodegradable polymer versus sirolimus-eluting stent with durable polymer for coronary revascularisation (LEADERS): a randomised non-inferiority trial
Stephan Windecker,Patrick W. Serruys,Simon Wandel,Paweł Buszman,Stanislaw Trznadel,Axel Linke,Karsten Lenk,Thomas Ischinger,Volker Klauss,Franz R. Eberli,Roberto Corti,William Wijns,Marie-Claude Morice,Carlo Di Mario,Simon J. Davies,Robert-Jan van Geuns,Pedro Eerdmans,Gerrit Anne van Es,B. Meier,Peter Jüni +19 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that a stents eluting biolimus from a biodegradable polymer represents a safe and effective alternative to a stent eluting sirolimus from a durable polymer in patients with chronic stable coronary artery disease or acute coronary syndromes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fractional flow reserve versus angiography for guidance of PCI in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease (FAME): 5-year follow-up of a randomised controlled trial
Lokien X. van Nunen,Frederik M. Zimmermann,Pim A.L. Tonino,Emanuele Barbato,Andreas Baumbach,Thomas Engstrøm,Volker Klauss,Philip MacCarthy,Ganesh Manoharan,Keith G. Oldroyd,Peter N. Ver Lee,Marcel van 't Veer,William F. Fearon,Bernard De Bruyne,Nico H.J. Pijls +14 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that FFR guidance of multivessel PCI should be the standard of care in most patients, and confirm the long-term safety of FFR-guided PCI in patients with multivessels disease.
