Journal ArticleDOI

Home‐range analysis using radio‐tracking data–a review of problems and techniques particularly as applied to the study of mammals

TL;DR: The review showed that even 25 years after the first radio-tracking studies, in the majority of papers there was still insufficient attention given to accurate and sufficient data collection, and to using appropriate and sophisticated analytical techniques to assess home-range size and configuration.
Journal ArticleDOI

To breed or not to breed: an analysis of the social and density-dependent constraints on the fecundity of female badgers (Meles meles).

TL;DR: Data from post-mortem examinations, population density estimates and long term capture-mark-recapture studies are combined to evaluate whether the hypothesis that the defence of oestrous females best explains territorial behaviour and the social organization of badgers in Britain is correct.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of dispersal and other movements in two Badger (Meles meles) populations

TL;DR: The dispersal and other movement patterns in two Badger populations, one in rural Gloucestershire and the other in suburban Bristol, are described and categorized into nine different types of movement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Foraging behaviour and home‐range utilization in a suburban Badger (Meles tneles) population

TL;DR: In this paper, the size and distribution of home ranges, and the dispersion of latrines were investigated to describe the use of space and degree of territoriality within a population of Badgers (Meles meles) living in the suburbs of Bristol.
