TL;DR: Polymerized BioGlue releases amounts of glutaraldehyde that are capable of inducing cytotoxic effects both in vitro and in vivo, and use ofBioGlue should be restricted to the aortic dissection procedure, as other tissues are sensitive to the amounts ofglutaraldehyde released from the glue.

Modulation of toll-like receptor 4 expression on human monocytes by tumor necrosis factor and interleukin-6: tumor necrosis factor evokes lipopolysaccharide hyporesponsiveness, whereas interleukin-6 enhances lipopolysaccharide activity.

TL;DR: It is concluded that not only LPS but also TNF-&agr; and IL-6 have the potency to regulate the immune response via TLR-4 and can increase the responsiveness of mononuclear phagocytes.

TL;DR: The ion-pair reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method provided good resolution of high-energy phosphates, including creatine phosphate, as well as of their degradation products, and was applied to extracts of freeze-clamped rat heart tissue samples and neonatal rat heart cardiomyocytes.

Increased Plasma D-lactate is Associated with the Severity of Hemorrhagic/traumatic Shock in Rats

TL;DR: The data suggest that hemorrhagic/traumatic shock is associated with mucosal damage and increased plasma D-lactate levels and may be a useful marker of intestinal injury after hemorrhagic-traumatic shock.
