Journal ArticleDOI
The AtGenExpress hormone and chemical treatment data set: experimental design, data evaluation, model data analysis and data access.
Hideki Goda,Eriko Sasaki,Kenji Akiyama,Akiko Maruyama-Nakashita,Kazumi Nakabayashi,Weiqiang Li,Mikihiro Ogawa,Yukika Yamauchi,Jeremy Preston,Ko Aoki,Takatoshi Kiba,Suguru Takatsuto,Shozo Fujioka,Tadao Asami,Takeshi Nakano,Hisashi Kato,Takeshi Mizuno,Hitoshi Sakakibara,Shinjiro Yamaguchi,Eiji Nambara,Yuji Kamiya,Hideki Takahashi,Masami Yokota Hirai,Tetsuya Sakurai,Kazuo Shinozaki,Kazuki Saito,Shigeo Yoshida,Yukihisa Shimada +27 more
TL;DR: Genome-wide transcriptional gene-to-gene correlations, analyzed by hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA), indicated that the data set is useful for identification of clusters of co-expressed genes, and to predict the functions of unknown genes, even if a gene's function is not directly related to the experiments included in AtGenExpress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of heavy metals on seed germination and early seedling growth of Arabidopsis thaliana
TL;DR: It is shown that seedling growth is more sensitive to heavy metals in comparison to seed germination, while Cd2+ is the exception that inhibited both of these processes at similar concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Arabidopsis type B cytokinin response regulators ARR1, ARR10, and ARR12 negatively regulate plant responses to drought
Kien Huu Nguyen,Chien Van Ha,Rie Nishiyama,Yasuko Watanabe,Marco Antonio Leyva-González,Yasunari Fujita,Uven Thi Tran,Weiqiang Li,Maho Tanaka,Motoaki Seki,G. Eric Schaller,Luis Herrera-Estrella,Lam-Son Phan Tran +12 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that repression of CK response, and thus CK signaling, is one of the strategies plants use to cope with water deficit, providing novel insight for the design of drought-tolerant plants by genetic engineering.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of plant growth regulators, nitric oxide, nitrate, nitrite and light on the germination of dimorphic seeds of Suaeda salsa under saline conditions
TL;DR: Results showed that 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC, the immediate precursor of ethylene), nitrite, GA4 and BA improved seed germination in the presence of salt, however, nitrate, GA1, GA3 failed to alleviate salt stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strigolactone perception and deactivation by a hydrolase receptor DWARF14
Yoshiya Seto,Rei Yasui,Hiromu Kameoka,Muluneh Tamiru,Mengmeng Cao,Ryohei Terauchi,Akane Sakurada,Rena Hirano,Takaya Kisugi,Atsushi Hanada,Mikihisa Umehara,Eunjoo Seo,Kohki Akiyama,Jason R. Burke,Noriko Takeda-Kamiya,Weiqiang Li,Yoshinori Hirano,Toshio Hakoshima,Kiyoshi Mashiguchi,Joseph P. Noel,Junko Kyozuka,Junko Kyozuka,Shinjiro Yamaguchi,Shinjiro Yamaguchi +23 more
TL;DR: The authors show that D14 activity is not dependent on cleavage activity and propose a new model whereby ligand hydrolysis serves to deactivate strigolactone signaling.
