Journal ArticleDOI

Bone marrow as a potential source of hepatic oval cells.

TL;DR: A stem cell associated with the bone marrow has epithelial cell lineage capability and a proportion of the regenerated hepatic cells were shown to be donor-derived.
Journal Article

Activation of hepatocyte growth factor by the plasminogen activators uPA and tPA.

TL;DR: It is reported that both urokinase-type plasminogen activator and tissue-type Plasminogens activator can cleave single-chain hepatocyte growth factor, generating two- Chain hepatocytes growth factor.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatocyte growth factor/scatter factor is a motogen for interneurons migrating from the ventral to dorsal telencephalon.

TL;DR: The data suggest that HGF/SF motogenic activity, which is essential for normal development of other organ systems, is a conserved mechanism that regulates trans-telencephalic migration of interneurons.
Journal Article

Hepatocyte growth factor induces Wnt-independent nuclear translocation of beta-catenin after Met-beta-catenin dissociation in hepatocytes.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the HGF causes similar redistribution of β-catenin as Wnt-1 in the hepatocytes and that this effect is attributable to subcellular association of Met and β- catenin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Disruption of tissue-type plasminogen activator gene in mice reduces renal interstitial fibrosis in obstructive nephropathy

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ablation of tPA attenuated renal interstitial fibrotic lesions in obstructive nephropathy and established a crucial and definite importance of EMT in the pathogenesis of renal interinterstitial fibrosis at the whole-animal level.
