Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of state-of-the-art segmentation algorithms for left ventricle infarct from late Gadolinium enhancement MR images
Rashed Karim,Pranav Bhagirath,Piet Claus,R. James Housden,Zhong Chen,Zahra Karimaghaloo,Hyon-Mok Sohn,Laura Lara Rodríguez,Sergio Vera,Xènia Albà,Anja Hennemuth,Heinz-Otto Peitgen,Tal Arbel,Miguel Ángel González Ballester,Alejandro F. Frangi,Marco J.W. Götte,Reza Razavi,Tobias Schaeffter,Kawal Rhode +18 more
TL;DR: The benchmarking evaluation framework can be used to test and benchmark future algorithms that detect and quantify infarct in LGE CMR images of the LV, with the exception of the Full-Width-at-Half-Maximum (FWHM) fixed-thresholding method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Statistical Shape Modeling of the Left Ventricle: Myocardial Infarct Classification Challenge
Avan Suinesiaputra,Pierre Ablin,Xènia Albà,Martino Alessandrini,J. E. Allen,Wenjia Bai,Serkan Çimen,Peter Claes,Brett R. Cowan,Jan D'hooge,Nicolas Duchateau,Jan Ehrhardt,Alejandro F. Frangi,Ali Gooya,Vicente Grau,Karim Lekadir,Allen Lu,Anirban Mukhopadhyay,Ilkay Oksuz,Nripesh Parajuli,Xavier Pennec,Marco Pereanez,Catarina Pinto,Paolo Piras,Marc-Michel Rohé,Daniel Rueckert,Dennis Säring,Maxime Sermesant,Kaleem Siddiqi,Mahdi Tabassian,Luciano Teresi,Sotirios A. Tsaftaris,Matthias Wilms,Alistair A. Young,Xingyu Zhang,Pau Medrano-Gracia +35 more
TL;DR: A challenge to test shape characterization in MI given a set of three-dimensional left ventricular surface points to establish a common dataset and test whether statistical shape modeling provides additional information characterizing MI patients over standard clinical measures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Automatic initialization and quality control of large-scale cardiac MRI segmentations
Xènia Albà,Karim Lekadir,Marco Pereanez,Pau Medrano-Gracia,Alistair A. Young,Alejandro F. Frangi +5 more
TL;DR: A fully automatic method for initializing cardiac MRI segmentation is proposed by using image features and random forests regression to predict an initial position of the heart and key anatomical landmarks in an MRI volume, and a quality control measure capable of identifying incorrect cardiac segmentations with no visual assessment is introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative CMR population imaging on 20,000 subjects of the UK Biobank imaging study: LV/RV quantification pipeline and its evaluation.
Rahman Attar,Marco Pereanez,Ali Gooya,Xènia Albà,Le Zhang,Milton Hoz de Vila,Aaron M. Lee,Nay Aung,Elena Lukaschuk,Mihir M. Sanghvi,Kenneth Fung,José Miguel Paiva,Stefan K. Piechnik,Stefan Neubauer,Steffen E. Petersen,Alejandro F. Frangi +15 more
TL;DR: This paper presents and evaluates a cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) image analysis pipeline that properly scales up and can provide a fully automatic analysis of the UKB CMR study, and provides 3D anatomical bi-ventricular models of the heart.
Journal ArticleDOI
Automatic cardiac LV segmentation in MRI using modified graph cuts with smoothness and interslice constraints
Xènia Albà,Rosa Ventura,Karim Lekadir,Catalina Tobon-Gomez,Corné Hoogendoorn,Alejandro F. Frangi +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a decoupled, modified graph cut approach with control points was proposed to automatically segment the left ventricle myocardium using intensity information and shape and interslice smoothness constraints.
