Influence of coal moisture on initial gas desorption and gas-release energy characteristics

With the increasing of energy demand and environmental pressure, China government has been exploring a way to diversify energy supply. Shale gas development is becoming an important energy strategy in China in recent years due to giant shale gas reserves. However, the shale gas market is preliminarily shaping in China, so that many factors have great influence on its competition. To find these factors and to control them rationally is good for the cultivating Chinese shale gas market. Five forces model for industry analysis puts an insight into the competitive landscape of shale gas market by showing the forces of supplier power, buyer power, threat of substitution, barriers to entry, and degree of rivalry. Illustrating the key factors that affect competitive landscape provides a view into the situation of shale gas industry. The variation tendency of shale gas industry is analyzed by setting various scenarios. Finally some suggestions are proposed in order to keep the development of shale gas industry positively.

Experimental analysis on the effect of tectonically deformed coal types on fines generation characteristics

Pulverized coal is one of the main controlling factors constraining the capacity of coal-bed methane wells during CBM drainage. The characteristics of pulverized coal can be used to identify the sources of the pulverized coal particles and to develop reasonable means of controlling pulverized coal output. Using light transmission microscopy, laser particle size testing, X-ray diffraction, reflection polarized optical microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X, the characteristics of pulverized coal collected during CBM drainage in the Hancheng block were analyzed for concentration, particle size, composition, and morphology. These traits were used to identify the sources of pulverized coal. The results showed that coal body structure (structural damage) was a primary control factor of pulverized coal output. Characteristics of Pulverized Coal during Coalbed Methane Drainage in Hancheng Block, Shaanxi Province, China:

Besides coal seam, the source rocks including dark mudstone, carbon mudstone and so on account for a large proportion in the coal measures. Based on the complex geothermal evolution history, the majority of coal measure organic matters with the peak of gas generation have a good potential of gas. Therefore, shale gas in coal measure is an important part of the shale gas resources. There are good conditions including the thickness of coal measures, high proportion of shale rocks, rich in organic matter content, high degree of thermal evolution, high content of brittle mineral and good conditions of the porosity and permeability for the generation of shale gas in Wuli area, the south of Qinghai province. Also the direct evidence of the gas production has been obtained from the borehole. The evaluation of shale gas in coal measure resources could broaden the understanding of the shale gas resources and promote the comprehensive development of the coal resources.

Study on the Forming Conditions of Shale Gas in Coal Measure of Wuli Area, Qinghai Province, China

The deformation and failure problems in soft rock supporting cannot be effectively controlled with conventional methods. This paper put forward the coupling support technologies by the use of large deformation constant-resistance bolt, large deformation constant-resistance cable and bottom-grouting pipes, with the analysis of deformation and failure reseasons, combing with verifications in field-test project at B103W01 working face, State Grid Energy abundance Coal Limited Shajihai Coal Mine. It also provides the reference for the tunnels supporting under similar conditions.
