TL;DR: Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive bias configuration strategy for RE can improve the cell edge performance compared with the static bias setting strategies, while maintaining the overall cell performance.
Abstract: The coexistence of macro eNodeBs and the additional low power nodes (LPNs) may lead to much higher interference in LTE-Advanced Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) In Macro Pico scenario, Range Extension (RE) is a promising scheme to utilize the LPN resources more effectively and improve the cell edge performance However, it may introduce more interference if the bias value is not properly set In this paper, an adaptive bias configuration strategy for RE is proposed In this strategy, the bias value is set adaptively according to the environment variability, which contains three stages including bias initialization, system performance feedback and dynamic bias value setting The proposed scheme aims to make the RE scheme adaptive and improve the cell edge users' performance through cell load balance Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the cell edge performance compared with the static bias setting strategies, while maintaining the overall cell performance

TL;DR: The research focuses on guiding more power consumption into green source energy, which implying that the UEs (User Equipment), especially the cell edge UEs, will have preferential access to the BSs (Base Station) with natural energy supply.
Abstract: The spread of mobile connectivity is generating major social and economic benefits around the world, while along with the rapid growth of new telecommunication technologies like mobile broadband communication and M2M (Machine-to-Machine) networks, larger number of various base stations will be employed into the network, which will greatly increase the power expense and CO2 emission. In order to degrade the system power expense, variety of researches on new energy and novel transmission technology are put in agenda. In this paper, instead of reducing the absolute power expense, the research focuses on guiding more power consumption into green source energy, which implying that the UEs (User Equipment), especially the cell edge UEs, will have preferential access to the BSs (Base Station) with natural energy supply. To realize the tendentious connection, two detailed approaches are proposed, the HO (Hand Over) parameter tuning for target cell selection and power control for coverage optimization. The system evaluation shows that, by proper setting of parameters in HO and power control, both of the two approaches can achieve good balance between energy saving effect and system throughput impact.

TL;DR: An enhanced DCS with muting method is proposed here to further improve the frequency and power efficiency, by using adaptive muting mode selection based on capacity calculation and flexible power allocation based on mutingmode selection status.
Abstract: CoMP JP (Coordinated Multi-Point Joint Processing) is regarded as a promising technique to improve both cell edge user throughput and cell average user throughput in LTE-A downlink. CoMP JP can be categorized as CoMP JT (Joint Transmission) and COMP DCS (Dynamic Cell Selection). Compared with CoMP JT schemes, CoMP DCS provides a good trade-off between the transmission algorithm complexity, backhaul overhead and system performance. Conventional DCS scheme can benefit cell edge users by instantaneous selecting the best severed eNB for cell edge users based on limited signaling overhead in uplink radio interface. DCS with muting scheme further apply muting to the strongest neighbor cell for decreasing interference to cell edge users. However the system spectrum efficiency may be degraded, since frequency reuse one is not maintained and radio resource (resource block and power) may not be fully used. An enhanced DCS with muting method is proposed here to further improve the frequency and power efficiency, by using adaptive muting mode selection based on capacity calculation and flexible power allocation based on muting mode selection status. Performance evaluation shows the proposed algorithm can provide about 5.5% cell average throughput gain and about 10% cell edge throughput gain respectively compared with conventional DCS schemes.

TL;DR: The proposed CC management method is shown by simulation results to be effective in providing comparable user throughput with lower implementation complexity, as compared to solely ingenious resource allocation.
Abstract: This paper focuses on investigating appropriate management of Component Carriers(CCs) in carrier aggregation( CA) system, which is identified as one of the most distinct features of 4G systems including Long Term Evolution- Advanced (LTE-A). An LTE-A user equipment (UE) is allowed to concurrently utilize multiple carriers, which leads to scalable increase in user throughput. However, in certain circumstances, aggregating entire available carriers for a UE is not meaningful due to probably low channel quality or high traffic load in some of the CCs. Therefore, how to make good use of multiple carriers in real deployment scenarios is an important issue. Based on the analysis of resource allocation across multiple carriers in Layer-2, two CC management methods in Layer- 3 are proposed. The proposed method is shown by simulation results to be effective in providing comparable user throughput with lower implementation complexity, as compared to solely ingenious resource allocation.

Abstract: A pre-coding method for a MIMO system and an apparatus using the same are described. In the method, a receiver determines a corresponding codebook from a multi-codebook including multiple codebooks according to a location of a resource block, selects a corresponding codeword index from the determined codebook and transmits the index to a transmitter; the transmitter determines the corresponding codebook from the multi-codebook including multiple codebooks according to the location of the resource block where transmission data is to be transmitted, selects a corresponding codeword from the determined codebook according to the codeword index and performs pre-coding for the transmission data with the selected codeword. The pre-coding is performed with the multi-codebook in the present invention, which increases a diversity of pre-coding matrixes, so dynamic fluctuation range of a equivalent channel is improved and thus the performance of multi-user scheduling is enhanced effectively.
