Mitochondrial PKM2 regulates oxidative stress-induced apoptosis by stabilizing Bcl2

TL;DR: It is shown that PKM2 translocates to mitochondria under oxidative stress and phosphorylates Bcl2 and inhibits apoptosis directly, highlighting the essential role of PKM 2 in ROS adaptation of cancer cells, and implicate HSP90-PKM2-Bcl2 axis as a potential target for therapeutic intervention in glioblastoma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Macrophage-Associated PGK1 Phosphorylation Promotes Aerobic Glycolysis and Tumorigenesis.

TL;DR: A novel mechanism of macrophage-promoted tumor growth by regulating tumor cell metabolism is demonstrated, implicating the therapeutic potential to disrupt the connection between macrophages and tumor cells by inhibiting PGK1 phosphorylation.
Journal ArticleDOI

UDP-glucose accelerates SNAI1 mRNA decay and impairs lung cancer metastasis

TL;DR: It is shown that, after activation of EGFR, UGDH is phosphorylated at tyrosine 473 in human lung cancer cells, and a tumour-suppressive role of UDP-glucose is revealed and a mechanism by which UG DH promotes tumour metastasis by increasing the stability of SNAI1 mRNA is uncovered.
