Circulating Galectin-3 Promotes Metastasis by Modifying MUC1 Localization on Cancer Cell Surface

TL;DR: It is shown that galectin-3, the concentration of which is greatly increased in the circulation of cancer patients, increases cancer cell adhesion to macrovascular and microvascular endothelial cells under static and flow conditions, increases transendothelial invasion, and decreases the latency of experimental metastasis in athymic mice.

Metformin incombination with curcumin inhibits the growth, metastasis, and angiogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma in vitro and in vivo.

TL;DR: Co‐administration of metformin and curcumin in combination showed a better anti‐tumor effects in hepatoma cells than either met formin or cur cumin presence alone and might represent an effective therapeutic strategy for HCC treatment.
