Journal ArticleDOI

Screening for endophytic fungi with antitumour and antifungal activities from Chinese medicinal plants

TL;DR: The results indicate that the endophytic fungi of Chinese traditional medicinal plants are promising sources of novel bioactive compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxic phenolics from Bulbophyllum odoratissimum

TL;DR: A phytochemical study of the whole plant of Bulbophyllum odoratissimum (J.E. Smith) Lindl (Orchidaceae) and cytotoxicity measurement of its isolated compounds have been carried out and all compounds, except for 9, have not been reported in this plant before.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cimicifoetisides A and B, two cytotoxic cycloartane triterpenoid glycosides from the rhizomes of Cimicifuga foetida, inhibit proliferation of cancer cells.

TL;DR: Two new cycloartane-type triterpene glycosides, namely cimicifoetisides A and B, along with seven known compounds cimigenol, have been isolated from the rhizomes of CIMicifuga foetida, suggesting their potential for further investigation as anti-cancer agents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxic Chemical Constituents from the Roots of Cimicifuga fetida

TL;DR: Seven new 9,19-cycloartane triterpene glycosides isolated from the roots of Cimicifuga fetida showed more selective and higher cytotoxicity against the human HepG2 cell line than against the MCF7, HT29, and MKN28 cell lines.
Journal ArticleDOI

1,4,5-Trihydroxy-7-methoxy-9H-fluoren-9-one, a new cytotoxic compound from Dendrobium chrysotoxum

TL;DR: A new compound, 1,4,5-trihydroxy-7-methoxy-9H-fluoren-9-one, has been isolated together with two known fluorenones, dendroflorin and denchrysan A, from the whole plant of Dendrobium chrysotoxum, a plant used as a health-food.
