Journal ArticleDOI

Recent advances in the development of GTR/GBR membranes for periodontal regeneration--a materials perspective.

TL;DR: It is hypothesized that the next-generation of guided tissue and guided bone regeneration (GTR/GBR) membranes for periodontal tissue engineering will be a biologically active, spatially designed and functionally graded nanofibrous biomaterial that closely mimics the native extra-cellular matrix (ECM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Nanostructured biocomposite scaffolds based on collagen coelectrospun with nanohydroxyapatite.

TL;DR: A combination of nanofibrous collagen and nanohydroxyapatite that mimics the nanoscale features of the extra cellular matrix could be promising for application as scaffolds for hard tissue regeneration, especially in low or nonload bearing areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Very high growth rate chemical vapor deposition of single-crystal diamond

TL;DR: This high-quality single-crystal MPCVD diamond may find numerous applications in electronic devices as high-strength windows and in a new generation of high-pressure instruments requiring large single-Crystal anvils.
Journal ArticleDOI

New high-pressure phase transition in zirconium metal.

TL;DR: A first-order phase transition between an {omega} phase and a bcc phase (isostructural with group-V transition elements) was observed during compression and decompression in a pressure range of 30{plus minus}2 GPa, which is in qualitative agreement with the recent first principles theoretical predictions.
