Calibration and evaluation of seven fracture models
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study of seven fracture criteria that are included in libraries of material models of non-linear finite element codes is presented, and a detailed calibration procedure for each criterion is presented in the present paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fracture prediction of thin plates under localized impulsive loading. Part II: discing and petalling
TL;DR: In this article, the onset of fracture and subsequent propagation of radial cracks of thin clamped circular plates under localized impulsive loading were predicted analytically and numerically for discing and petalling stages with increasing intensity of applied impulse and various radii of loaded area.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fracture prediction of thin plates under hemi-spherical punch with calibration and experimental verification
TL;DR: In this article, the response of thin clamped plates subjected to static punch indentation is investigated experimentally, analytically and numerically to determine the onset of fracture, and the accumulated equivalent plastic strain with stress triaxiality as a weighing function is introduced as ductile fracture criterion in the finite-element simulation and analytical prediction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fracture prediction of thin plates under localized impulsive loading. Part I: dishing
TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive analysis of deformation and fracture of thin plates subjected to localized impulsive loading is presented, including calibration for plasticity and fracture, and detailed description of three stages of dynamic response, i.e. dishing, discing and petalling.
