Adopted values for the reduced electric quadrupole transition probability, B(E2)↑, from the ground state to the first-excited 2+ state of even–even nuclides are given in Table I. Values of τ, the mean life of the 2+ state; E, the energy; and β, the quadrupole deformation parameter, are also listed there. The ratio of β to the value expected from the single-particle model is presented. The intrinsic quadrupole moment, Q0, is deduced from the B(E2)↑ value. The product E×B(E2)↑ is expressed as a percentage of the energy-weighted total and isoscalar E2 sum-rule strengths.

Table II presents the data on which Table I is based, namely the experimental results for B(E2)↑ values with quoted uncertainties. Information is also given on the quantity measured and the method used. The literature has been covered to November 2000.

The adopted B(E2)↑ values are compared in Table III with the values given by systematics and by various theoretical models. Predictions of unmeasured B(E2)↑ values are also given in Table III.

Transition probability from the ground to the first-excited 2^+ state of even-even nuclides

We discuss a phase space representation of quantum dynamics of systems with many degrees of freedom. This representation is based on a perturbative expansion in quantum fluctuations around one of the classical limits. We explicitly analyze expansions around three such limits: (i) corpuscular or Newtonian limit in the coordinate-momentum representation, (ii) wave or Gross-Pitaevskii limit for interacting bosons in the coherent state representation, and (iii) Bloch limit for the spin systems. We discuss both the semiclassical (truncated Wigner) approximation and further quantum corrections appearing in the form of either stochastic quantum jumps along the classical trajectories or the nonlinear response to such jumps. We also discuss how quantum jumps naturally emerge in the analysis of non-equal time correlation functions. This representation of quantum dynamics is closely related to the phase space methods based on the Wigner-Weyl quantization and to the Keldysh technique. We show how such concepts as the Wigner function, Weyl symbol, Moyal product, Bopp operators, and others automatically emerge from the Feynmann's path integral representation of the evolution in the Heisenberg representation. We illustrate the applicability of this expansion with various examples mostly in the context of cold atom systems including sine-Gordon model, one- and two-dimensional Bose Hubbard model, Dicke model and others.

The wobbling mode is uniquely related to triaxiality and introduces a series of bands with increasing wobbling phonon number, $n_{\rm w}$
 . The pattern of $\gamma$
 -transitions between the wobbling excitations will be influenced by the presence of an aligned particle. Evidence for the wobbling mode was obtained recently, and even a two-phonon wobbling excitation has now been identified in 163
 Lu. The similarity of the data in 163
 Lu to new strongly deformed triaxial bands and connecting transitions in the neighbouring nuclei, 165
 Lu and 167
 Lu, establishes wobbling as a more general phenomenon in this region. The higher phonon wobbling excitations show some anharmonicity, but the characteristic large $\Delta n_{\rm w} = 1$
 E2 strength is observed. The wobbling interpretation is based on the comparison of electromagnetic decay strength between bands to particle-rotor calculations in which an i
 13/2 proton is coupled to a triaxial core.

Wobbling phonon excitations in strongly deformed triaxial nuclei

The high-spin states of 112In have been investigated with in-beam $ \gamma$ -ray spectroscopic methods using the 110Pd (7Li, 5n)112In reaction at a beam energy of 50MeV. A level scheme with 3 band structures has been established. The backbending associated with the alignment of a pair of g7/2/d5/2 neutrons has been found in the negative-parity yrast band. The configuration for the positive-parity yrare band has been assigned to $ \pi$g9/2 ⊗ $ \nu$g7/2 for the lower-spin states, and $ \pi$g9/2 ⊗ $ \nu$h211/2(g7/2) for the higher-spin levels.

High-spin yrast and yrare structures in 112In

A new rotational band has been observed in 167Lu by 152Sm (19F,4n)reaction at the HI-13 tandem accelerator of CIAE in Beijing. The high spin transition energies of the new band are almost identical to the triaxial superdeformed bands recently discovered in 163Lu and 165Lu. This new band is predicted as a triaxial superdeformed band by total routhian surface calculations.

Superdeformed triaxial band in 167 Lu

The excitation energy systematics of $\ensuremath{\pi}{h}_{11/2}\ensuremath{\bigotimes}\ensuremath{\nu}{h}_{11/2}$ yrast bands of odd-odd isotopes ${}^{118--132}\mathrm{Cs}$ are studied, and as a result of this study we suggest that the spin values of lowest observed states of yrast bands of ${}^{118,122,124,126,128}\mathrm{Cs}$ be reassigned as 8, 9, 9, 9, and 10, respectively. These new spin assignments are also supported by the argument of alignment additivity.

Spin assignments of yrast bands in odd-odd isotopes 118-132 Cs

High-spin states of $^{138}\mathrm{Pm}$ have been populated using the $^{124}\mathrm{Te}(^{19}\mathrm{F},\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}5\mathrm{n})^{138}\mathrm{Pm}$ reaction at a beam energy of 105 MeV. A new positive-parity side band with the same $\ensuremath{\pi}{h}_{11/2}\ensuremath{\bigotimes}\ensuremath{\nu}{h}_{11/2}$ configuration as that of the yrast band is observed in $^{138}\mathrm{Pm}$. The properties of the two positive-parity bands show general agreement with the fingerprints of chiral rotation and thus these two bands are suggested to be candidates for near degenerate chiral doublet bands. Besides, odd-even spin staggering of the $\ensuremath{\pi}{h}_{11/2}\ensuremath{\bigotimes}\ensuremath{\nu}{h}_{11/2}$ bands is studied systematically in odd-odd Cs, La, Pr, and Pm isotopes. As a result of this study we suggest that the spin value of lowest observed state of the yrast band be reassigned as 9 in $^{138}\mathrm{Pm}$. This new spin assignment is also supported by the argument of alignment additivity.

Candidate chiral doublet bands in Pm 138

This study aimed to identify microRNAs (miRs), the deregulated expression of which leads to the activation of oncogenic pathways in human breast cancer (BC). miRs are classes of endogenous, small, noncoding RNAs that regulate gene expression aberrantly in human tumor tissues. A total of 39 out of 123 tumoral and matched uninvolved peritumoral breast specimens from 3 independent subsets of patients were analyzed for the expression of 851 human miRs using an Agilent platform. The remaining 84 samples were used to validate miRs differentially expressed between tumoral and matched peritumoral specimens by quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Animal assay was further used to test the role of miR-9 and Her-2 in the pathogenesis of BC. All 39 matched samples were analyzed by unsupervised cluster analysis. This analytical approach identified a signature of miRs (miR-9, miR-148a, miR-31, miR-375, miR-21, miR-135b, miR-196a and miR-196b) that were significantly modulated between tumoral and peritumoral tissues in both subsets of patients. Her-2 protein staining increased in tumoral specimens when miR-9 downregulation correlated with the prognostic value. The ectopic expression of miR-9 inhibited the colony-forming ability, migration and tumor engraftment of BC cells. miR-9 targeted the Her-2 messenger RNA and increased responsiveness of BC cells to docetaxel (DOC) or cyclophosphamide treatment. The ectopic expression of Her-2 protein counteracted the miR-9 proapoptotic activity in response to DOC. These findings suggested that the modulation of aberrant expression of miR-9, which in turn induces oncogenic Her-2 protein activity, might hold promise for preventive and therapeutic management of BC.
