Controlling dissociative adsorption for effective growth of carbon nanotubes
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found that the addition of specific carrier gases can critically modify the growth rate and growth density of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) by dissociative adsorption of C2H2 molecules and a solid core VLS growth model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rational Design of Titanium Carbide MXene Electrode Architectures for Hybrid Capacitive Deionization
Samantha Buczek,Michael Barsoum,Simge Uzun,Narendra Kurra,Ryan Andris,Ekaterina Pomerantseva,Khaled A. Mahmoud,Yury Gogotsi +7 more
Journal ArticleDOI
In situ distributed diagnostics of flowable electrode systems: resolving spatial and temporal limitations
TL;DR: An experimental approach was developed that enables spatially-resolved voltage measurements to be obtained in situ, in real-time that indicates that the majority of the charging in suspension electrodes occurs within ∼750 μm of the current collectors during flow, which gives rise to significant state-of-charge gradients across the cell.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of carbon core–shell pore structures and their performance as supercapacitors
Teguh Ariyanto,Boris Dyatkin,Gui-Rong Zhang,Andreas M. Kern,Yury Gogotsi,Bastian J. M. Etzold +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a nanostructured core-shell carbonaceous material was proposed for supercapacitors with high specific capacitance and high energy densities, which achieved power densities in excess of 40kW/kg −1 at energy density reaching 27 −Wh −1.
Posted ContentDOI
Titanium carbide MXene shows an electrochemical anomaly in water-in-salt electrolytes
Xuehang Wang,Tyler S. Mathis,Yangyunli Sun,Wan-Yu Tsai,Netanel Shpigel,Hui Shao,Danzhen Zhang,Kanit Hantanasirisakul,Fyodor Malchick,Nina Balke,De-en Jiang,Patrice Simon,Yury Gogotsi +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an electrochemical system with separated cyclic voltammograms (CVs) peaks, accompanied by surface-controlled partial charge transfer, in 2D Ti3C2Tx MXene in water-in-salt electrolytes is presented.
