Journal ArticleDOI
Wetting of CVD carbon films by polar and nonpolar liquids and implications for carbon nanopipes.
TL;DR: This work investigated the wetting behavior of individual nanopipesproduced by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of carbon in porous alumina templates and of thin carbon films produced by the same technique.
Journal ArticleDOI
Copper Azide Confined Inside Templated Carbon Nanotubes
TL;DR: In this article, a technique for confining energetic copper azide within CNTs is described, where 5 nm colloidal copper oxide nanoparticles are synthesized and filled into the 200 nm diameter CNT, produced by template synthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
3D knitted energy storage textiles using MXene-coated yarns
Ariana Levitt,Dylan Hegh,Patrick Phillips,Simge Uzun,Mark Anayee,Joselito M. Razal,Yury Gogotsi,Genevieve Dion +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D knitted supercapacitor was designed and prototyped with the intention of exploiting the architecture of a knit textile to improve the performance of long yarn electrodes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced volumetric hydrogen and methane storage capacity of monolithic carbide-derived carbon
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of monolithic carbide-derived carbon (CDC) by chlorination of fully-dense ceramic titanium carbide plates was reported, and the resulting materials have a microporous carbon structure with little or no macroporosity and exhibit enhanced volumetric gas storage capacity compared to powder equivalents.
