TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present different paths for the study of form and subject cataloging under a semiotic point of view, and two researches on cataloging with different theoretical approaches on semiotics are presented.
Abstract: The creation of bibliographic records is a fundamental process in libraries. Information professionals provide access to documents of a collection through bibliographic records in a catalog. Domain analysis and semiotic aspects are important aspects to consider during documentary reading. This research presents different paths for the study of form and subject cataloging under a semiotic point of view. Form and subject cataloging require contact with the document, which involves complex interpretative processes from the professionals. Two researches on cataloging with different theoretical approaches on semiotics are presented here. The models illustrate the relationship between the document`s subject and its treatment. When the aspects presented in this theoretical study are considered, it is possible to categorize how the professional behaves in contact with the documents.

TL;DR: In this paper, a survey of a cientifica sobre o Resource Description and Access (RDA) is presented, with a focus on the desenvolvimento of the RDA.

TL;DR: In this paper, a critical posicinamento as to what has become commonplace: the production and circulation of information in cyberspace as the logic of social promotion of democracy (social inclusion, participation, public discussion etc.).
Abstract: This paper proposes questions and criticism regarding the situations related to the production and circulation of information in cyberspace as a logic of social promotion of democracy. Wide range of discussion of issues on the generation, use and access to information can be found. However, by emphasizing the debate on the issue of technology and its cultural implications, the proposal here is to present a critical posicinamento as to what has become commonplace: the production and circulation of information in cyberspace as the logic of social promotion of democracy (social inclusion, participation, public discussion etc.).

TL;DR: The RDA cataloging code and the BIBFRAME initiative are presented as trends for the future of bibliographic description on the web and it is considered that the RDA and BIBFRAME trends over time will be taken as the basis for resource description in the web environment.
Abstract: This paper presents the RDA cataloging code and the BIBFRAME initiative as trends for the future of bibliographic description on the web. Therefore, descriptive bibliographical research was carried out on the general principles of cataloging, highlighting the theoretical major and facts that influenced the development of the principles of cataloging, the RDA code and the BIBFRAME initiative. It describes the RDA code, from its evolution and terminology and outlines relations on the use of RDA with MARC 21 format from comparisons with AACR2R. It then describes the BIBFRAME initiative in its two segments: model and vocabulary. Finally, it considers that the RDA and BIBFRAME trends over time will be taken as the basis for resource description in the web environment.
