Theoretical modelling and analysis of the material removal characteristics in fluid jet polishing

TL;DR: In this article, a ductile-mode erosion model has been built to predict the volume removed by a single particle and a modified Gaussian function was used to describe the spatial distribution of abrasive particles in Fluid Jet Polishing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multi-scale modeling and simulation of material removal characteristics in computer-controlled bonnet polishing

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-scale theoretical model for the prediction and simulation of the material removal characteristics in the computer-controlled bonnet polishing (CCBP) process is presented, based on the study of contact mechanics, kinematics theory and wear mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modelling and characterization of surface generation in fluid jet polishing

TL;DR: In this paper, a theoretical model is built for predicting and characterizing the material removal characteristics and surface generation in FJP based on computational fluid dynamic modelling, and a series of spot and pattern polishing tests, as well as simulation experiments by the theoretical model were conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI

A theoretical and experimental investigation of material removal characteristics and surface generation in bonnet polishing

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-scale material removal model and a surface generation model have been built based on the contact mechanics, kinematics theory, abrasive wear mechanism, as well as the relative and cumulative removal process of surface generation in bonnet polishing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a multi-jet polishing process for inner surface finishing

TL;DR: In this paper, a rod-shaped nozzle with a linear array of orifices at its side face is used for precision polishing of inner surfaces of stainless steel cylindrical inner surfaces and the results show that the proposed multi-jet polishing process is able to achieve high efficiency and precision inner surface finishing on the inner surface.
