TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between the PD inception voltage and velocity of the resulting electrical ageing, depending on the voltage characteristics, insulation design and temperature of the interturn insulation.
Abstract: When induction machines are fed by fast switching inverters, their interturn insulation is electrically more stressed than in the conventional feed. When inverters are used steep voltage pulses of high repetition frequency occur. This can cause partial discharges (PDs) leading to insulation failure. The PD inception voltage and velocity of the resulting electrical ageing depend on the voltage characteristic, insulation design and temperature. These relations were investigated using laboratory models of interturn insulation, semiconductor-based pulse generator and as PD detector an UV-sensitive photo multiplier tube.

TL;DR: In this paper, the charge storage and transport of an epoxy resin containing TiO/sub 2/n nanoparticles is investigated, and the results discussed in terms of the underlying physics.
Abstract: Dielectric studies are described aimed at providing an understanding of the charge storage and transport of an epoxy resin containing TiO/sub 2/ nanoparticles. Comparative results for conventionally filled composites are given, and the results discussed in terms of the underlying physics. It is shown that nanometric fillers mitigate the interfacial polarization characteristic of conventional materials with a reduction in the internal field accumulations.

TL;DR: The work described in this paper was carried out some years ago as discussed by the authors, and it was published as part of a U.S. Air Force report [1] and presented as a Conference Paper [2] at this Conference.
Abstract: The work described in this paper was carried out some years ago. It was published as part of a U.S. Air Force report [1] and presented as a Conference Paper [2] at this Conference. Since the latter appeared only as an extended abstract and the former did not receive wide distribution it seemed appropriate to present it here, and in a more detailed paper to be published shortly [3].

TL;DR: In this paper, a personalized overview of the nanodielectric domain is given, offering finally a tentative definition of the class of dielectric materials and their insulating properties.
Abstract: There is today the neologism "nanotechnology" around which much effervescence is consolidating. This scientific wave is complex in nature with multiple ramifications: The domain extends widely including in fact old and newer concepts. At this point of time, a focused perspective revealing the status and incidences of the domain on new materials, especially dielectrics and their insulating possibilities, is desirable. Thus, a personalized overview is given here, offering finally a tentative definition of "nanodielectrics".

Abstract: There has been considerable interest among chemists and physicists during the past ten years in electrically conductive organic compounds [1]. The possibility of conductive materials that are light weight, inexpensive and easily processed has been especially attractive. This paper will describe what makes these organic materials conductive, and their properties in general, as well as results of recent work.
