TL;DR: In this article, an algorithm for maximum power point tracking using Perturb and Observe technique is presented, which starts by setting the computed maximum power PMAX to an initial value (usually zero), next the actual PV voltage and current are measured at specific intervals and the instantaneous value of PV power, PACT is computed.
Abstract: The following paper validates an algorithm for Maximum Power Point Tracking using Perturb and Observe technique. The algorithm starts by setting the computed maximum power PMAX to an initial value (usually zero). Next the actual PV voltage and current are measured at specific intervals and the instantaneous value of PV power, PACT is computed. PMAX and PACT are compared. PMAX and PACT are compared. If PACT is greater than PMAX, it is set as the new value of PMAX. At every instant the PACT is calculated, and the comparison is continuously executed. Hence the final value of PMAX will be the point at which maximum power can be delivered to the load. For maximum power transfer across the load, the input impedance should be equal to the load impedance. Based on the mechanism of load matching the duty cycle of the converter is varied so that the output power will almost be equal to the input in practical systems. The system will be modelled with the help of MATLAB/SIMULINK.

TL;DR: A simplified approach to detect the presence of masks correctly without causing over-fitting using some basic Machine Learning packages like TensorFlow, Keras, OpenCV and Scikit-Learn is presented.
Abstract: COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly affected our day-to-day life disrupting the world trade and movements Wearing a protective face mask has become a new normal In the near future, many public service providers will ask the customers to wear masks correctly to avail of their services Therefore, face mask detection has become a crucial task to help global society This paper presents a simplified approach to achieve this purpose using some basic Machine Learning packages like TensorFlow, Keras, OpenCV and Scikit-Learn The proposed method detects the face from the image correctly and then identifies if it has a mask on it or not As a surveillance task performer, it can also detect a face along with a mask in motion The method attains accuracy up to 9577% and 9458% respectively on two different datasets We explore optimized values of parameters using the Sequential Convolutional Neural Network model to detect the presence of masks correctly without causing over-fitting

TL;DR: Fingerprint attendance system aims to automate the attendance procedure of an educational institution using biometric technology to save time wasted on calling out names and it gives a fool-proof method of attendance marking.
Abstract: Fingerprint attendance system aims to automate the attendance procedure of an educational institution using biometric technology. This will save time wasted on calling out names and it gives a fool-proof method of attendance marking. A hand-held device is used to mark the attendance without the intervention of teacher. The device can be passed and students can mark attendance during the lecture time. Students would be made to place their finger over the sensor so as to mark their presence in the class. It can communicate with a host computer using its USB interface. This device operates from a rechargeable battery. GUI application in host computer helps the teacher to manage the device and attendance.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a combined energy storage using batteries and super capacitors with high energy and power density for the photovoltaic (PV) based micro grid.
Abstract: The energy flow between source and the load of micro grid must be balanced to have a constant dc grid voltage. Due to intermittency in the natural sources and the variations in load, energy balance operation demands storage. The commonly preferred choice of energy storage in micro grid is valve regulated lead acid batteries. When batteries are used as energy storage, due to its low power density, the charge and discharge rate is low. It causes severe stress on the battery under quick load fluctuations and results in increase in the number of charge/discharge cycles. Hence, the lifetime of the battery reduces. The super capacitors have high power density and it can react speedily to quick load fluctuations. However, super capacitors alone cannot be used as energy storage as it cannot supply load for a longer time. Hence, this paper proposes a combined energy storage using batteries and super capacitors with high energy and power density. The photovoltaic (PV) based micro grid with combined energy storage is designed and the control strategy is validated for different atmospheric and load conditions.

TL;DR: The main advantage of the proposed system is the use of LoRa technology for data communication which enables long distance data transmission along with low power consumption as compared to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Zigbee.
Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is constantly evolving and is giving unique solutions to the everyday problems faced by man. “Smart City” is one such implementation aimed at improving the lifestyle of human beings. One of the major hurdles in most cities is its solid waste management, and effective management of the solid waste produced becomes an integral part of a smart city. This paper aims at providing an IoT based architectural solution to tackle the problems faced by the present solid waste management system. By providing a complete IoT based system, the process of tracking, collecting, and managing the solid waste can be easily automated and monitored efficiently. By taking the example of the solid waste management crisis of Bengaluru city, India, we have come up with the overall system architecture and protocol stack to give a IoT based solution to improve the reliability and efficiency of the system. By making use of sensors, we collect data from the garbage bins and send them to a gateway using LoRa technology. The data from various garbage bins are collected by the gateway and sent to the cloud over the Internet using the MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) protocol. The main advantage of the proposed system is the use of LoRa technology for data communication which enables long distance data transmission along with low power consumption as compared to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Zigbee.
